Hannelore thought of people who had already listened to her and was motivated to visit them. Although she had health limitations, she was able to show six people what a Bible course is like.

Comment 2: I am encouraged to see that Hannelore did not focus on what she could not do. She thought about what she could do: speak again with those who already knew something about the truth. This allowed her to use her strength in a very productive way.

Comment 3: Josie’s experience teaches us not to consider a conversation finished simply because someone is busy. The brothers spoke with other members of her family, and gradually five people accepted a Bible study.

Comment 4: It is nice to see that interest can spread within a family. When some began studying, Josie wanted to know what they were talking about, and later her daughter also became interested. One conversation can open the door to many more opportunities.

Comment 5: The good results did not depend on using complicated words. The brothers offered the course naturally and showed how it is conducted. This helped the people see right away that studying the Bible is practical and enjoyable.

Comment 6: The experience in Germany shows the value of talking with people when they are more available. The brother preached in the evening, found a man who was willing to talk about the Bible, and was able to start a course with him and his children.

Comment 7: We also learn to be alert to people we see regularly. Elisabeth took advantage of her friendly relationship with the owner of a café. A simple visit to have tea became an opportunity to offer a course.

Comment 8: The café owner not only accepted the study but also invited her daughter and niece to join. This confirms that when someone appreciates what he or she is learning, that person often wants to share it with loved ones.

Comment 9: Something that stands out in all these experiences is that the brothers took advantage of the opportunity at the right moment. They did not wait for a perfect occasion. Respectfully and simply, they offered the course when they saw that the person was receptive.

Comment 10: The video also strengthens our confidence that there are people who want to learn. We do not know who will accept, but if we continue enthusiastically offering Bible courses, Jehovah can direct us to those who have the right attitude.

Comment 11: The experiences remind us that every publisher can contribute, regardless of age or circumstances. Some may be able to preach from house to house for longer periods, while others may speak with acquaintances. The important thing is to keep looking for opportunities.

Comment 12: These good experiences are not meant to make us compare ourselves with others. Rather, they encourage us to ask for Jehovah’s blessing and joyfully do our part. He can make a small effort produce very beautiful results.

Why is it a good idea to set aside time for the house-to-house ministry during the campaign?

Comment 1: The house-to-house ministry allows us to speak with many people and offer them a Bible course directly. During a campaign, setting aside time for this aspect of the ministry increases our opportunities to find someone who wants to learn.

Comment 2: The video recommended going at times when people are more likely to be at home. This shows that what matters is not only how much time we spend preaching but also choosing times that allow us to have meaningful conversations.

Comment 3: When we preach from house to house, we can meet people whom we might not find in public witnessing or informal witnessing. In this way, we give more people the opportunity to hear the good news and accept a Bible course.

Comment 4: Setting aside time for this work helps us remain focused on the goal of the campaign: starting Bible courses. Keeping this goal in mind can move us to offer the course with greater confidence and enthusiasm.

Comment 5: The experience of the brothers who spoke with Josie began while they were going from house to house. Although she was busy, other family members were willing to listen. This proves that it is worthwhile to tactfully approach each household.

Comment 6: The house-to-house ministry also allows us to work closely with our partner. We can support each other, learn from one another, and make better use of our conversations. This cooperation makes the ministry more encouraging.

Comment 7: At times we may think that people are not at home or will not have time. But the report showed that by choosing good times, we can find people who are willing to talk and even start a course right then.

Comment 8: This aspect of the ministry helps us avoid merely waiting for an opportunity to arise. We go out looking for one. That initiative shows that we value the preaching work and want to help others come to know Jehovah.

Comment 9: Setting aside time during the campaign may require organization, but it can bring much joy. We can adjust our routine to participate more and ask Jehovah to help us find those who want to study the Bible.

Comment 10: The house-to-house ministry allows us to offer the course clearly from the start. If we see that it is a good time, we can briefly explain how the study is conducted and help the person imagine enjoying that learning experience.

Comment 11: Not all of us will be able to devote the same amount of time, but each of us can consider whether we can reserve some additional time. Jehovah appreciates our doing what we can and making good use of the opportunities we have.

Comment 12: The campaign unites us with brothers in many places who are doing the same thing—offering Bible courses. Preaching from house to house with that goal can increase our enthusiasm and remind us that we are sharing in a worldwide work.

What is the direct approach, and why does it often produce such good results?

Comment 1: The direct approach consists of offering a Bible course without beating around the bush when we see that it is a good time. Rather than leaving the invitation for another occasion, we help the person immediately understand what we are offering.

Comment 2: This approach produces good results because it is simple and clear. The person does not have to guess the purpose of the visit. He or she can see what the course is like and decide whether to learn more about the Bible.

Comment 3: In the Philippines, the brothers used the direct approach with Josie’s son and nephew. By showing them what the course was like, they awakened the interest of other family members, and eventually five people accepted a study.

Comment 4: The direct approach does not mean being abrupt. We remain kind and respectful. We simply explain clearly that we can offer a free Bible course and allow the person to respond without pressure.

Comment 5: The café experience shows that a direct question or invitation can come at just the right time. Elisabeth offered the course to the woman, showed her a video about what it is like, and she wanted to start immediately.

Comment 6: It can also work well when witnessing informally. The report mentioned family members, neighbors, workmates, employees, and other people. When a conversation arises, we can naturally and simply offer the course.

Comment 7: One advantage is that we can adapt the invitation to what the person says. The brother in Germany spoke about the Bible with a man who had already read it that morning. Then he showed him a lesson from the brochure.

Comment 8: The direct approach helps us avoid missing opportunities because we fear seeming too forward. When done tactfully, we are giving the person an opportunity to accept something that can benefit him or her greatly.

Comment 9: Showing what a class is like can be more effective than explaining it at length. When the person sees a lesson or a video related to the course, he or she understands that it will be a Bible-based study that is easy to follow.

Comment 10: The results will not always be immediate, but the direct approach allows us to plant a clear seed. Even if someone does not accept at that moment, the person will know that he or she can study the Bible and may remember the invitation later.

Comment 11: Using this approach requires preparation. We can become familiar with the Enjoy Life Forever brochure and with how to explain the course. Then, when an opportunity arises, we will speak calmly and confidently.

Comment 12: The good result comes above all from Jehovah’s blessing on sincere efforts. We offer the course simply, but he can cause a person to become interested and take steps to learn more about the truth.

How can we make good use of our time in the ministry?

1 Corinthians 9:26 — Therefore, the way I am running is not aimlessly; the way I am aiming my blows is so as not to be striking the air;

Comment 1: These words help us to have a clear goal in the ministry. We want to use our time to search for and help those who show sincere interest in the truth, while keeping in mind the goal of starting and conducting Bible courses.

Comment 2: We can make better use of our time by choosing hours when people are more likely to be at home. Thus, we will have more conversations and more opportunities to offer a Bible course directly.

Comment 3: It is also good to think prayerfully about our return visits. We can ask ourselves whether the person is showing increasing interest, values the visits, and would be willing to study the Bible.

Comment 4: Being patient does not mean continuing indefinitely with a return visit that is making no progress. The report recommended being balanced and thinking matters through carefully. It may be better to use part of that time to search for other interested people.

Comment 5: We make good use of our time when we offer a course whenever a good opportunity arises. We do not have to wait for a very long conversation. A simple invitation can reveal whether someone wants to learn more.

Comment 6: We can lovingly examine the progress of our students. For example, we can consider whether they accept Bible truths, make needed changes, attend the meetings, and speak with others about what they are learning.

Comment 7: If a student does not progress, we should not judge him or her harshly. But we can pray, analyze the situation, and decide how to use our energies wisely. We want to help everyone, especially those who respond to the truth.

Comment 8: Another way to use our time well is to be alert to everyday contacts. Someone we see regularly, such as a neighbor or a person at a business, may be more willing to listen because of the trust that already exists.

Comment 9: Preparation also helps us. If we know how to present the brochure and explain a course, we will be able to act quickly when someone shows interest. Being ready keeps us from letting good opportunities pass by.

Comment 10: Making good use of our time does not consist only in achieving visible results. It includes preaching with a purpose, listening attentively, and treating each person with dignity. Jehovah values that faithful and well-directed effort.

Comment 11: We can ask Jehovah for wisdom to balance return visits, courses, and the search for new interested ones. With his help, we will make practical decisions and continue doing our best in the ministry.

Comment 12: When we use our time wisely, we do not stop giving everyone the opportunity to hear the good news. We simply organize our ministry so as to reach more people and focus on those who want to make spiritual progress.

What do we learn from Mary’s experience?

Comment 1: Mary asked her students a very simple question: Did they know anyone who wanted to study the Bible? We learn that we should not limit our search to strangers; interested ones may know receptive family members or friends.

Comment 2: Mary’s question worked because people who value God’s Word usually want to share what they learn. We can help them think of someone specific who might also benefit from a Bible course.

Comment 3: Jasmin introduced Mary to four interested people. This teaches us that one student can open the door to several courses. So it is good to ask the question naturally and not think that it will be a bother.

Comment 4: Kristine agreed to study twice a week and later introduced her friends. Her example shows that a student’s enthusiasm can influence others. When we see such enthusiasm, we can encourage the student and help him or her share what is being learned.

Comment 5: The experience also teaches us not to prejudge others. Andrea had wrong ideas about Jehovah’s Witnesses, but after examining the Bible, she realized that they were not true. A well-conducted class can clear up many doubts.

Comment 6: Angela listened to the classes without Mary knowing it. When she finally asked to study, she made much progress and began attending the meetings. This reminds us that others may be listening and benefiting more than we realize.

Comment 7: At first, Joshua only wanted to listen and said that he did not want questions. However, he soon participated and wanted to study. We learn to respect each person’s pace and allow the Bible to awaken his or her interest.

Comment 8: Mary did not try to care for all the interested people by herself. She made arrangements for other brothers and sisters to help with some of the courses. This demonstrates humility and love for the students, not a desire to keep all the results for herself.

Comment 9: The question can be asked not only of our students but also of other people who show interest in the Bible. They may know someone who needs hope or who is looking for answers to important questions.

Comment 10: Mary took advantage of means that enabled her to help people even in other places. The main lesson is not to copy her circumstances exactly but to use wisely the means available to give Bible lessons.

Comment 11: Mary’s results began with a brief and respectful question. This encourages us not to make our way of offering help overly complicated. Sometimes a simple invitation can start a chain of good experiences.

Comment 12: This experience strengthens our confidence that Jehovah can make interest grow. We can ask questions and offer help; then, patiently, we will see some interested ones take steps to come to know, love, and serve Jehovah.

Comments
