Against whom are we fighting as Jehovah\u2019s servants? (Ephesians 6:11, 12)<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-combined-answer ctj-editorial-part-s1 ctj-unit-q01-a1-s ctj-bible-bible_001 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ephesians 6:11-12<\/strong> \u2014 <em>Put on the complete suit of armor from God so that you may be able to stand firm against the crafty acts of the Devil; because we have a struggle, not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places.<\/em><br><br> <strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> Our fight is not against flesh-and-blood people but against Satan and the demons. That is why we need to put on the complete suit of armor that God provides and always rely on Jehovah\u2019s help.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s1 ctj-unit-q01-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> As Jehovah\u2019s servants, we do not participate in the wars of this world. Our warfare is spiritual, and we must know the tactics that Satan uses to attack us and our brothers.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s1 ctj-unit-q01-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> Satan and the demons are powerful, but we are not alone. We can stand up to them if we rely on Jehovah and remain alert to their traps.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">2. What will we consider in this article?<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s2 ctj-unit-q02-a1 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> We will consider two more of Satan\u2019s tactics. One is trying to destroy the unity of the congregation; the other is using persecution to discourage us and make us stop preaching.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s2 ctj-unit-q02-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> Satan wants us to lose sight of what is most important. He may try to divide or frighten us, but recognizing his objectives helps us avoid falling into his traps.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s2 ctj-unit-q02-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> The article prepares us to protect unity and remain focused on preaching about God\u2019s Kingdom, even when we face opposition or injustices.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">3. What is Satan\u2019s strategy for trying to divide us?<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s3 ctj-unit-q03-a1 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> Satan wants us to fight one another instead of fighting him. He hopes that cold, cruel, and distrustful attitudes from the world will rub off on us.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s3 ctj-unit-q03-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> His strategy is to promote criticism, suspicion, and even hatred among brothers. In this way, he would try to weaken the unity that Jehovah wants for his people.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s3 ctj-unit-q03-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> When a difference arises, let us remember who the real enemy is. That perspective will help us avoid viewing our brothers as adversaries.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">4. Why did King Saul want to kill David? (See also the picture.)<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s4 ctj-unit-q04-a1 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> Saul became filled with envy and hatred when he saw that the people praised David more than him. That bad attitude led him to try to kill David many times.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s4 ctj-unit-q04-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> Satan would have been delighted if Saul had killed David, because Jehovah had already chosen David to be Israel\u2019s next king. He wanted to prevent Jehovah\u2019s purpose from being fulfilled.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s4 ctj-unit-q04-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> The picture contrasts Saul with Jonathan. Saul allowed jealousy to dominate him, but Jonathan had faith in Jehovah and happily supported David.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">5. Why does Satan want us to become envious of one another? (James 3:14-16)<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-combined-answer ctj-editorial-part-s5 ctj-unit-q05-a1-s ctj-bible-bible_003 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James 3:14-16<\/strong> \u2014 <em>But if you have bitter jealousy and contentiousness in your hearts, do not be bragging and lying against the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above; it is earthly, animalistic, demonic. For wherever there are jealousy and contentiousness, there will also be disorder and every vile thing.<\/em><br><br> <strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> Satan knows that jealousy and a contentious spirit produce disorder and every vile thing. That is why he wants to sow envy; it would then be harder for us to treat one another with love.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s5 ctj-unit-q05-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> Jehovah blesses his servants when they are united. Satan tries to break that unity by making us compare what we have or do with what other brothers have or do.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s5 ctj-unit-q05-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> Envy can affect our worship. Instead of feeding comparisons, we can rejoice over the blessings and abilities of our brothers.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">6. What does Jonathan\u2019s example teach you? (See also the picture.)<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s6 ctj-unit-q06-a1 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> Jonathan did not imitate his father\u2019s envy. He remained loyal to David and trusted that Jehovah would fulfill His word. His example teaches us to humbly support our brothers.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s6 ctj-unit-q06-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> Although David would become king, Jonathan did not view him as a rival. He offered him his support, showing that love and loyalty leave little room for jealousy.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s6 ctj-unit-q06-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> We can imitate Jonathan by rejoicing when a brother receives a responsibility or a blessing. Thus we strengthen unity instead of competing.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">7. What can we do to give the Devil no opportunity? (Ephesians 4:25-27)<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-combined-answer ctj-editorial-part-s7 ctj-unit-q07-a1-s ctj-bible-bible_004 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ephesians 4:25-27<\/strong> \u2014 <em>Therefore, now that you have put away deceit, each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, because we are members belonging to one another. Be wrathful, but do not sin; do not let the sun set while you are still angry; do not give the Devil an opportunity.<\/em><br><br> <strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> We give the Devil no opportunity when we quickly resolve disagreements and do not let anger remain in our heart. Speaking honestly can protect peace.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s7 ctj-unit-q07-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> Differences in opinions, personalities, races, and cultures do not have to divide us. We are all valuable members of the same body and fight against the same enemies.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s7 ctj-unit-q07-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> Instead of thinking that differences separate us, let us strive to love our brothers even more. They are not standing in front of us but at our side.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">8. What should we do if a brother or sister says or does something that hurts us?<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-combined-answer ctj-editorial-part-s8 ctj-unit-q08-a1-s ctj-bible-bible_005 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>John 17:20-21<\/strong> \u2014 <em>\u201cI make request, not concerning these only, but also concerning those putting faith in me through their word, so that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in union with me and I am in union with you, that they also may be in union with us, so that the world may believe that you sent me.<\/em><br><br> <strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> We should be patient and willing to forgive. Jesus asked that his disciples be united, so protecting unity is one way to respond to his desire.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s8 ctj-unit-q08-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> Let us remember that we also make mistakes. Since we spend much time together, friction may occur; we should not allow an injury to distance us from a brother.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s8 ctj-unit-q08-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> When we feel hurt, we can ask ourselves what will help preserve peace. Forgiving and showing patience contribute to the unity that Jehovah and Jesus want.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">9. What other tactic does Satan use against us?<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s9 ctj-unit-q09-a1 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> Another tactic of Satan is persecution. He wants to discourage, frighten, or distract us so that we stop carrying out the work of preaching about God\u2019s Kingdom.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s9 ctj-unit-q09-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> When we suffer opposition, we might become obsessed with seeing justice done or clearing our name. Satan would use that to divert our attention from what is most important.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s9 ctj-unit-q09-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> Knowing that true Christians would suffer persecution helps us not to be surprised. We can remain focused on the service that Jehovah has entrusted to us.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">10. What did Isaac do when he suffered an injustice?<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s10 ctj-unit-q10-a1 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> When the Philistines quarreled with him over the wells, Isaac decided to move elsewhere and dig new wells. He sought peace instead of allowing the conflict to worsen.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s10 ctj-unit-q10-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> Isaac did not become discouraged or respond aggressively to the injustice. He acted calmly and patiently, and Jehovah blessed his decision.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s10 ctj-unit-q10-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> His example teaches us that we do not always have to insist on defending our rights. At times, yielding in order to preserve peace is the wisest decision.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">11. How did Jesus react when he suffered injustices?<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s11 ctj-unit-q11-a1 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> Jesus suffered many injustices, but he did not allow opposition to slow down his service to Jehovah. He remained focused on the work he had been assigned.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s11 ctj-unit-q11-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> Jesus never sought revenge. When Peter injured a slave of the high priest, Jesus did not approve of that reaction and healed the wound.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s11 ctj-unit-q11-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> We can imitate Jesus by not allowing an injustice to control our thoughts or actions. Preaching and serving Jehovah must continue to be our priority.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">12. According to Matthew 5:43, 44, how should we treat those who persecute us or oppose our work?<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-combined-answer ctj-editorial-part-s12 ctj-unit-q12-a1-s ctj-bible-bible_006 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Matthew 5:43-44<\/strong> \u2014 <em>\u201cYou heard that it was said: \u2018You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.\u2019 However, I say to you: Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those who persecute you,<\/em><br><br> <strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> Jesus commanded us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute his disciples. Therefore, we do not repay evil for evil, even when someone opposes our work.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s12 ctj-unit-q12-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> We should treat kindly, patiently, and respectfully even those who mistreat us. This reaction shows that we follow Jesus\u2019 clear command.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s12 ctj-unit-q12-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> If relatives or others turn against us, we can avoid responding in the same way. Our conduct may help us keep preaching in focus.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">13. Why should we respect rulers even if they oppose our work? (See also the picture.)<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-combined-answer ctj-editorial-part-s13 ctj-unit-q13-a1-s ctj-bible-bible_007 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>John 15:19<\/strong> \u2014 <em>If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.<\/em><br><br> <strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> We respect rulers because God\u2019s Word commands us to do so. Even if there are laws that make life difficult for us, we do not allow that to cause us to lose our neutrality.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s13 ctj-unit-q13-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> We should not conclude that Satan is behind every unjust decision made by governments. What he wants is for us to react negatively and criticize political leaders.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s13 ctj-unit-q13-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> The picture reminds us that a Christian does not join protests. We remain neutral and respectful, even when others pressure us to participate.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">14. What should we keep in mind when people turn against the truth?<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s14 ctj-unit-q14-a1 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> We should remember that some people who once opposed the truth are now our brothers. This helps us not to lose hope when someone speaks badly about us.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s14 ctj-unit-q14-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> We can ask Jehovah to allow the authorities to let us worship him peacefully and to help us know how to change a negative opinion about Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s14 ctj-unit-q14-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> Patience is needed, especially with relatives, workmates, or schoolmates. We do not know how much a person may change over time.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">15. Why is it not worth trying to correct every injustice we see or suffer in this world?<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-combined-answer ctj-editorial-part-s15 ctj-unit-q15-a1-s ctj-bible-bible_008 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1 John 3:8<\/strong> \u2014 <em>The one who practices sin originates with the Devil, because the Devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was made manifest, to break up the works of the Devil.<\/em><br><br> <strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> We cannot correct every injustice in this world, but Jesus will break up the works of the Devil. Jehovah knows exactly what we are enduring, and his Kingdom will repair all the damage.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s15 ctj-unit-q15-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> Spending our energies trying to correct every injustice could distract us. While we wait for the Kingdom, we can be patient and show love for our neighbor.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s15 ctj-unit-q15-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> The best way to use our time and strength is to help as many people as possible to become Jehovah\u2019s friends. That work has lasting results.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">16. What will help us win our fight against Satan and the demons? (See also the pictures.)<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-combined-answer ctj-editorial-part-s16 ctj-unit-q16-a1-s ctj-bible-bible_009 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1 John 5:4-5<\/strong> \u2014 <em>because everyone who has been born from God conquers the world. And this is the conquest that has conquered the world, our faith. Who can conquer the world? Is it not the one who has faith that Jesus is the Son of God?<\/em><br><br> <strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> The key to winning is faith. Strengthening our faith in Jehovah and Jesus gives us the assurance that we can win the fight against Satan and the demons.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s16 ctj-unit-q16-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> Faith will motivate us to continue loving our brothers and remaining united with them. Love and unity are an important defense against Satan\u2019s tactics.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s16 ctj-unit-q16-a3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 3:<\/strong> The pictures show that brothers of different ages and backgrounds can work together lovingly. Fostering such an atmosphere of unity helps us win the victory.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading ctj-editorial-section ctj-watchtower-section\">17. What are we determined to do?<\/h3><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s17 ctj-unit-q17-a1 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 1:<\/strong> We are determined not to fall into Satan\u2019s traps. Although he may try to divide or discourage us, we will stay close to Jehovah and Jesus.<\/p><p class=\"ctj-editorial-unit ctj-editorial-labeled-answer ctj-editorial-part-s17 ctj-unit-q17-a2 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Answer 2:<\/strong> We want to remember that our brothers fight at our side, not against us.
