What is the conscience, and how can it help us to please Jehovah?

Romans 2:14-15 — For when people of the nations, who do not have law, do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves. They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them, and by their own thoughts they are being accused or even excused.

Answer 1: This passage shows that our own thoughts can approve or condemn what we do. That ability is the conscience. Jehovah has given it to us to help us, but we must educate it with the Bible so that its guidance agrees with his way of thinking.

Answer 2: The conscience is the ability to examine our thoughts and actions and determine whether they are right or wrong. It is not enough to ask ourselves whether a decision makes us feel comfortable. We need to educate this ability according to what Jehovah considers right. Then, when we have to choose, our conscience can help us take his will into account instead of guiding us solely by our desires or by what other people do.

Answer 3: I find it very valuable that Jehovah has given us a means of evaluating our conduct. A well-educated conscience enables us to recognize which decisions please him and which could harm our friendship with him. But the paragraph also reminds us that bad influences can weaken it. That is why we need to do two things: keep educating it with the Bible and protect it from anything that could distort our sense of right and wrong.

2. What does the conscience move us to do?

Romans 12:9 — Let your love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is wicked; cling to what is good.

Answer 1: Romans 12:9 helps us see that a good conscience is not limited to recognizing what is wrong. It moves us to reject it and choose what Jehovah approves. Therefore, educating it should influence our actions, not just our opinions. If we detect something that is wrong, what matters is responding to that warning and acting in harmony with what we know is good.

Answer 2: It moves us to avoid what is bad before we do it. At times, we might think of the conscience only as something that makes us feel bad after a mistake. However, the paragraph highlights that it can also guide us beforehand. If we pay attention to its warnings and it is well educated, it will help us turn away from wrong conduct and protect our friendship with Jehovah.

Answer 3: A good conscience also moves us to do what is good. It is not merely a matter of avoiding a list of prohibited things but of wanting to act as Jehovah wishes. This positive aspect is important: when making decisions, we can ask ourselves which option is more in harmony with what we have learned from him. In this way, we show that we want to please him and that we are truly allowing our conscience to influence our conduct.

3, 4. (a) How are the conscience and a smoke detector alike, and how are they different? (See also the picture.)

James 1:14-15 — But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn sin, when it has been carried out, brings forth death.

Answer 1: Both alert us to a danger, but the conscience can warn us before we do something wrong. James explains how a wrong desire can end in sin. A conscience educated by the Bible helps us recognize that danger at the outset and stop before damaging our friendship with Jehovah.

Answer 2: In the picture, the man hears the alarm and then sees smoke coming from the oven. The detector warns him when there is already smoke. The conscience, on the other hand, can warn us before we commit a wrong action. That difference makes it a very valuable protection. If it is educated by the Bible, it can help us identify steps that seem small but could lead us to serious sin.

Answer 3: The comparison highlights the importance of paying attention to warnings. A detector alerts us to danger, and our conscience can do the same. But we should not wait until we have committed a sin to listen to it. If a situation arouses a warning based on Bible principles, we should take it seriously. Jehovah has given us an ability that can help us avoid harm, not merely recognize it afterward.

3, 4. (b) Explain with a hypothetical situation how the conscience protects us.

Answer 1: The article presents the case of a young brother who moves to a new place and wants to make friends. He accepts an invitation from other young people in the congregation, but when he arrives, he notices that some are drinking too much and do not respect Jehovah’s standards. If his conscience is well educated, he will recognize that those friendships are not good for him. In this way, he can avoid an influence that, in time, could lead him to commit serious sin.

Answer 2: In that hypothetical situation, the young man’s desire to have friends is understandable. However, his conscience helps him not to allow that desire to weigh more than his friendship with Jehovah. When he sees what is happening at the social gathering, he realizes that he must evaluate the conduct of those young people. The lesson is that it is not enough to want to fit in: we need to choose friends who respect Jehovah’s standards.

Answer 3: What protects the young man is listening to the warning before adopting the conduct of the others. He does not need to get to the point of drinking too much or committing serious sin to recognize the danger. His conscience, educated by the Bible, enables him to see where those friendships could lead him. This teaches us to act when the first signs of a bad influence appear, instead of waiting until it has already harmed us.

5, 6. What would Adam and Eve have had to do in order to obey Jehovah?

Isaiah 33:22 — For Jehovah is our Judge, Jehovah is our Lawgiver, Jehovah is our King; He is the One who will save us.

Answer 1: They would have had to recognize that Jehovah had the right to establish what was right and what was wrong. Isaiah 33:22 highlights his authority to give laws. Therefore, the prohibition regarding the tree was not something that Adam and Eve could change according to their preferences. Obedience required accepting Jehovah’s standard above any personal desire or any suggestion contrary to his command.

Answer 2: Eve should have refused to keep listening to the serpent. She knew Jehovah’s prohibition and knew that eating the fruit was wrong. But instead of rejecting what contradicted that command, she allowed the serpent to influence her. The application for us is clear: when we already know what Jehovah requires, we should not make room for reasoning that tries to convince us that disobeying him will benefit us.

Answer 3: Adam and Eve needed to act in harmony with what they already knew. The problem was not that they lacked a clear instruction about the tree. Jehovah had explained to them what they must not do. Therefore, obedience meant listening to their conscience and staying within the established limit. This reminds us that knowing a Bible standard is not enough: we must let that knowledge determine our conduct, even when a temptation appears.

Answer 4: To obey, both of them had to put the desire to please Jehovah above their own desires. The article later explains that Eve seems to have given in to greed and pride, whereas Adam acted selfishly. Their case helps us examine our motives. If we want our conscience to protect us, we cannot allow something we desire to end up seeming more important to us than doing what Jehovah asks.

7. What does Ephesians 5:15-17 teach us?

Ephesians 5:15-17 — So keep strict watch that how you walk is not as unwise but as wise persons, making the best use of your time, because the days are wicked. On this account stop being unreasonable, but keep perceiving what the will of Jehovah is.

Answer 1: It teaches us that we should think carefully about our conduct and strive to understand what Jehovah wants. When we cannot find a specific rule, that does not mean that any decision will please him. We need to look for principles that will help us understand his will.

Answer 2: The paragraph distinguishes between two situations: those in which Jehovah has given a clear rule and those in which there is no specific law. In the latter situation, it is still important to please him. That is why we need an educated conscience that helps us reason on the basis of Bible principles. Instead of asking only whether something is forbidden, it is good to think about whether the decision reflects Jehovah’s way of viewing matters.

Answer 3: Understanding Jehovah’s will requires effort on our part. We will not always find an instruction that describes exactly the situation we are facing. But we can examine what the Bible teaches us about his way of thinking. Then our conscience will help us apply that knowledge. In this way, we will make thoughtful decisions instead of being guided by the impulse of the moment or by what seems easiest to us.

8. Why may two Christians make different decisions about the same matter and still have a clean conscience?

Answer 1: Because, when there is no specific Bible rule, different factors may be involved. The paragraph mentions motives, intentions, and local culture. Two Christians may analyze those factors and reach different decisions without disobeying Jehovah. The essential thing is for both of them to make sure that they respect Bible principles. Therefore, a difference in decision does not in itself prove that one is acting rightly and the other wrongly.

Answer 2: Having a clean conscience does not simply mean doing what each person feels is right. Both Christians must make sure that their decision is in harmony with Bible principles. That is the common basis, even though their circumstances may be different. This helps us maintain balance: We respect personal conscience, but we also recognize that all of us need to educate it with the Bible and have the sincere desire to please Jehovah.

Answer 3: The paragraph helps us avoid turning our personal decision into a rule for others. Another brother may have motives or circumstances that are not the same as ours. If both of us respect Bible principles, Jehovah may be pleased with both of us. In matters of conscience, what matters is not that everyone choose exactly the same thing, but that each person strive to act in harmony with Jehovah’s will.

9. How do two brothers apply Galatians 6:4 when making a decision about the toast? (See also the pictures.)

Galatians 6:4 — But let each one examine his own actions, and then he will have cause for rejoicing in regard to himself alone, and not in comparison with the other person.

Answer 1: They each examine their own situation instead of making a decision by comparison. One participates because an achievement by the company is being celebrated in a social setting. The other does not participate because his boss’s nationalistic comments would compromise his neutrality. Although they reach different decisions, both strive to please Jehovah. In this way, they apply the principle of personally evaluating their actions and the motives behind them.

Answer 2: The first brother takes into account the meaning of the toast in that particular situation. Where he lives, it is a social custom and a sign of good manners, and his coworkers are celebrating an achievement by the company. So he decides to participate. The example does not give general authorization for any toast; rather, it shows the importance of analyzing the context and making sure that the decision respects Bible principles.

Answer 3: The second brother recognizes a factor that changes the situation: His boss has made nationalistic comments. The picture also shows that he points to a flag. So he decides not to raise his glass because he does not want to compromise his political neutrality. His decision reminds us that a social custom should be evaluated according to the circumstances. It is not enough to think that something is commonly done; we must consider what we would be expressing by participating.

10, 11. According to Hebrews 5:13, 14, what relationship is there between “solid food” and the conscience?

Hebrews 5:13-14 — For everyone who continues to feed on milk is unacquainted with the word of righteousness, for he is a young child. But solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their powers of discernment trained to distinguish both right and wrong.

Answer 1: Solid food helps us educate our conscience. It includes the deep Bible truths and principles that we need in order to evaluate our conduct. By studying and applying them, we develop the discernment needed to make decisions that please Jehovah.

Answer 2: Although the word conscience does not appear in these verses, they do describe a function that is closely related to it: learning to recognize what is right and what is wrong. Therefore, deep spiritual food is not merely interesting information. It should influence the way we think and decide. If we make good use of it, we will know Jehovah’s viewpoint better and will be able to use it to guide our conduct.

Answer 3: Bible principles are part of that solid food. They are especially necessary when there is no rule indicating exactly what to do. In such cases, each Christian must identify the principles related to his situation, analyze them, and make a decision. This requires more than remembering a rule; it requires understanding how Jehovah thinks and allowing that understanding to educate our conscience and help us act in a way that pleases him.

Answer 4: This relationship also teaches us that educating our conscience requires thorough study. If we are satisfied with superficial knowledge, it will be more difficult for us to reason when a new situation arises. On the other hand, by delving deeper into Bible truths and principles, we will have a more solid basis for making decisions. The goal is not to accumulate knowledge, but to make good use of it in order to recognize what conduct is in harmony with Jehovah’s will.

12. What do the expressions “mature people” and “through use,” found at Hebrews 5:14, mean?

Hebrews 5:14 — But solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their powers of discernment trained to distinguish both right and wrong.

Answer 1: Mature people have educated their conscience according to Bible principles and know Jehovah’s way of thinking well. Practice consists of repeatedly applying those principles when making decisions. Thus, maturity is demonstrated not only by what we know but also by how we use that knowledge to guide our actions and take into account Jehovah’s feelings.

Answer 2: Being a mature person involves knowing Jehovah’s personality well. That knowledge enables a person to foresee how he will view a decision and what effect our actions will have on our relationship with him. Therefore, before acting, a mature person takes Bible principles into account. His main question is not simply whether something is convenient for him, but whether the decision reflects respect for Jehovah and for his way of thinking.

Answer 3: The expression related to practice highlights that this training is ongoing. We do not educate our conscience by applying a principle just once. Each time we analyze a decision in the light of the Bible and act accordingly, we continue training our discernment. In time, we learn to recognize right and wrong more clearly. Thus, the decisions we make are opportunities to keep strengthening our conscience.

13. What could happen to us if we do not educate our conscience according to Bible principles?

Isaiah 5:20 — Woe to those who say that good is bad and bad is good, Those who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, Those who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

Answer 1: We could end up with our moral sense reversed, approving what Jehovah condemns. Isaiah shows how dangerous it is to confuse these things. So it is not enough to say that our conscience allows us to do something. We need to make sure that it has been educated by Bible principles and not by ideas that distort our view of what is right.

Answer 2: If we do not educate our conscience with the Bible, other factors can shape it. The paragraph mentions false religious beliefs and prejudices. This means that a person could feel that he is acting correctly and yet be guided by a wrong standard. To avoid this, we need to compare our ideas with Bible principles and be willing to correct them. What matters is not always defending our opinion, but bringing it into harmony with Jehovah’s way of thinking.

Answer 3: Wrong desires can also affect our conscience. Greed, pride, or selfishness may lead us to justify something because we want to do it, even though it does not agree with Bible principles. So it is wise to examine our motives honestly. We can ask ourselves whether we are seeking what pleases Jehovah or looking for a reason to do what we feel like doing. This review helps us avoid allowing our desires to control our judgment.

Answer 4: Our conscience could stop helping us recognize moral danger. The paragraph emphasizes that it is imperfect and can make mistakes, so we should not treat it as a guide that never fails. Its usefulness depends on how we educate it and on the influences we accept. This encourages us to continue studying Bible principles, even if we have known them for a long time, and to allow them to correct any tendency that could weaken our conscience.

14. (a) Why did Adam and Eve not listen to their conscience?

Answer 1: It seems that Eve allowed greed and pride to cloud her judgment. She stopped being content with what Jehovah had given her and wanted to be like him. This caused her to lose sight of who had the right to establish what was good and what was bad. Her case shows that a wrong desire can distort our reasoning if we nurture it, even when we already know what Jehovah’s will is.

Answer 2: Adam acted selfishly. For him, his desire to be with Eve became more important than pleasing Jehovah. It was not that he was unaware of the command; rather, he put his desire above obedience. This teaches us to watch our priorities. If we want to listen to our conscience, we must be determined to let the desire to please Jehovah weigh more than any personal preference.

Answer 3: Both of them allowed their desires to influence them more than what they knew about Jehovah. In Eve’s case, greed and pride seem to have stood out; in Adam’s case, selfishness did. The result was that they did not pay attention to their conscience. The lesson is that knowing the standards does not automatically protect us. We must also guard our motives and avoid allowing a wrong attitude to lead us to look for excuses to disobey.

14. (b) Mention Bible characters who did not properly educate their conscience (see the box “Did Not Educate Their Conscience”).

Answer 1: One example mentioned in the article is Eve. She knew Jehovah’s command, but she allowed the serpent to influence her. It seems that greed and pride came to dominate her way of thinking. Her case reminds us that the conscience needs more than knowledge: We must reject ideas and desires that contradict what Jehovah teaches us, rather than give them room.

Answer 2: We can also mention Adam. Although he knew Jehovah and knew what Jehovah had commanded him, he gave greater importance to his desire to be with Eve. His selfishness damaged his way of making decisions. This example helps us see that the conscience does not work well if we subordinate obedience to our preferences. We need to keep the desire to please Jehovah as the priority that guides our decisions.

Answer 3: Adam and Eve show that knowing Jehovah does not prevent someone from allowing his conscience to deteriorate. Both knew that he had established a limit, but they allowed wrong attitudes to weigh more than that knowledge. When thinking about them, we can review not only whether we know the standards but also how we react when our desires clash with them. That is where it becomes evident whether we are allowing Jehovah to educate our conscience.

15. What else can seriously harm our conscience, and what does the Bible advise us?

1 Corinthians 15:33 — Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits.

Answer 1: Bad associations can seriously harm our conscience. This verse warns that their influence can spoil the good conduct we already have. So it would not be wise to think that we can maintain any friendship without being affected. If we want to continue doing what is right, we must be careful about whom we associate with and distance ourselves from influences that weaken our respect for Jehovah’s standards.

Answer 2: The paragraph highlights the danger of associating with those who reject God and have become morally insensitive. Their way of thinking can influence what we consider acceptable. That is why the Bible advises us not to adopt their way of life and to stay away from such bad influences. Protecting our conscience includes choosing our associates carefully, not merely studying what is right and what is wrong.

Answer 3: We should not assume that having good intentions makes us immune to bad associations. The paragraph says that they can be dangerous precisely for those who want to do what is right. If we frequently listen to reasoning that despises Jehovah’s standards, our conscience could be affected. So it is important to take the Bible’s counsel seriously and avoid friendships whose conduct pushes us to view as normal what Jehovah disapproves of.

Answer 4: The Bible’s recommendation requires action, not merely recognizing that a danger exists. If certain associates are damaging our conscience, we need to distance ourselves from that influence. We can relate this to the young man in the hypothetical situation: upon observing conduct contrary to Jehovah’s standards, he needed to recognize that those friendships were not good for him. Listening to our conscience means being willing to change a decision in order to protect our friendship with Jehovah.

16. When is the guidance provided by our conscience especially useful? (See the box “How a Bible-Educated Conscience Helps Us.”)

1 Corinthians 10:31 — Therefore, whether you are eating or drinking or doing anything else, do all things for God’s glory.

Answer 1: It is especially useful when there is no specific Bible instruction for our situation. This principle reminds us that even everyday decisions should honor Jehovah. A well-educated conscience helps us apply that objective to what we do. Thus, instead of thinking only about our preferences, we consider whether the decision agrees with his will and shows respect for him.

Answer 2: Our conscience helps us when we have to move from a general principle to a personal decision. The Bible may not describe exactly the matter before us, but it does teach us how Jehovah thinks. If we have educated our conscience with those principles, we will be able to evaluate the options. That is why it is wise to train it continually, rather than wait until we face a difficult situation before beginning to learn Jehovah’s standard.

Answer 3: Although it is imperfect, the conscience can be a great help in pleasing Jehovah. But the paragraph points out an important condition: It must be educated according to Bible principles. If it is not, the absence of a specific rule could lead us to decide solely on the basis of personal preferences. In contrast, a well-formed conscience helps us seek what Jehovah approves and act responsibly in matters that require discernment.

17. According to Romans 12:2, how does Jehovah teach us?

Romans 12:2 — And stop being molded by this system of things, but be transformed by making your mind over, so that you may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Answer 1: Jehovah teaches us through the Bible to change our way of thinking. Romans 12:2 shows that we need an inner transformation, not just changes in conduct. As we study and accept his teaching, we learn to evaluate matters from his point of view. In this way, we can better recognize which decisions please him instead of adopting the way of thinking around us.

Answer 2: One way to learn is to analyze how Jehovah has dealt with his people throughout history. Those accounts help us get to know his personality and his way of viewing matters. We do not study them merely to remember events, but to understand Jehovah better. We can then use what we have learned when making decisions and allow that knowledge to continue shaping our conscience.

Answer 3: The paragraph especially highlights Jesus’ teachings and example. Examining them helps us learn to think like Jehovah. That is why it is important to focus not only on what Jesus taught but also on how he acted. Meditating on this can help us examine our own way of reasoning and deciding. In this way, studying his life comes to influence our conscience and the choices we make.

Answer 4: For Jehovah to teach us, we must allow ourselves to be molded. The paragraph’s comparison involving clay and a potter highlights this disposition. As we study the Bible, we may discover that one of our opinions needs to change. Instead of clinging to it, we can accept Jehovah’s teaching. Thus, study does not remain merely a matter of acquiring information; it allows him to transform our mind and help us think more and more like him.

18. What must we do to be happy and please Jehovah?

2 Timothy 1:3 — I am grateful to God, to whom I am rendering sacred service as my forefathers did, and with a clean conscience, never ceasing to remember you in my supplications night and day.

Answer 1: We must educate and protect our conscience so that we can serve Jehovah without it accusing us of wrongdoing. Paul highly valued being able to serve him in this way. The paragraph explains how to achieve this: study the Bible thoroughly and avoid bad influences. Happiness does not come simply from doing what we want, but from knowing that our decisions agree with what Jehovah approves.

Answer 2: An essential part is protecting our conscience from bad influences. It would make no sense to work hard to learn Jehovah’s standards while at the same time allowing other ideas or associates to weaken our respect for them. We need to take care of what shapes our thinking. By rejecting influences that could harm us, we help our conscience remain sensitive and guide us toward decisions that please Jehovah.

Answer 3: We also need to study the Bible thoroughly. The conscience does not automatically learn to recognize what Jehovah considers right; we must educate it with his teachings. This requires analyzing principles and thinking about how to apply them. If we make study a help in our decisions, and not merely an activity that we complete, our conscience will be better prepared to guide us. Then we can serve Jehovah with the satisfaction of seeking his approval.

Answer 4: The summary brings together two complementary responsibilities: avoiding what weakens the conscience and strengthening it with the Bible. If we do only one of the two, we will be neglecting an important part of its care. We want it to continue recognizing danger and moving us to do what is right. By listening to that conscience educated by Jehovah, we can be happy and succeed in the most important sense: living a life that pleases him.

What is the conscience, and how does it help us please Jehovah?

1 Corinthians 15:33 — Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits.

Answer 1: The conscience is the ability to evaluate our thoughts and actions to recognize whether they are right or wrong. When well educated, it helps us choose what Jehovah approves. But we must protect it. The warning about bad associations shows that other people can negatively influence our conduct. Therefore, in addition to studying the Bible, we need to avoid influences that could weaken our sense of right and wrong.

Answer 2: It is a gift from Jehovah that allows us to examine our conduct. It can help us recognize a mistake, but it can also detect a danger before we act. That is why it was compared to a smoke detector, although it can warn us further in advance. If we educate it with Bible principles and heed its warnings, we will avoid steps that could lead us into sin and damage our friendship with Jehovah.

Answer 3: The conscience helps us not only reject what is bad but also choose what is good. That is an important difference: we do not want merely to avoid mistakes but to make decisions that make Jehovah rejoice. To do so, we need to know his way of thinking. The better our conscience is educated by the Bible, the better it can help us direct our desires, priorities, and actions in harmony with his will.

Answer 4: The conscience can guide us toward what pleases Jehovah, but it is not infallible. It can be affected by pride, selfishness, wrong desires, or bad associations. Therefore, feeling at peace with a decision is not sufficient by itself. We must make sure that we made it with Bible principles in mind. Then our confidence will not be based solely on personal feelings but on Jehovah’s teaching.

What does Hebrews 5:14 mean?

Hebrews 5:14 — But solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their powers of discernment trained to distinguish both right and wrong.

Answer 1: It means that spiritual maturity requires training. We need to understand deep truths and Bible principles and use them repeatedly when making decisions. That practice educates our conscience and improves our discernment. It is not enough to know what the Bible says; we must allow its teachings to direct our conduct and help us recognize what Jehovah considers right.

Answer 2: Solid food represents the deeper truths of the Bible and also includes its principles. We need it so that our conscience has a firm foundation. When a situation arises for which there is no specific rule, those principles enable us to reason. Therefore, the verse encourages us to go beyond basic knowledge and study with the desire to understand Jehovah’s will better.

Answer 3: Mature people know Jehovah’s personality and way of thinking well. As a result, they can consider in advance how he will view their actions. Their maturity is reflected in the fact that they take Bible principles into account when making decisions. This gives us a specific goal: to study not merely to know more, but to know Jehovah better and make that knowledge influence our personal decisions.

Answer 4: Practice consists of using Bible principles repeatedly. Each decision gives us the opportunity to ask ourselves what Jehovah thinks, analyze what his Word teaches, and act accordingly. In this way, discernment is trained. It is not something achieved once and for all. We must continue using and educating our conscience so that it helps us recognize right and wrong with greater clarity.

How does the conscience help us make good decisions in matters about which the Bible says nothing?

Romans 12:2 — And stop being molded by this system of things, but be transformed by making your mind over, so that you may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Answer 1: When there is no specific rule, an educated conscience helps us apply Jehovah’s way of thinking. Romans 12:2 highlights the need to change our mind so that we can recognize his will. By allowing the Bible to produce that change, we will be able to evaluate our options according to Bible principles, and not merely according to our preferences or the customs around us.

Answer 2: It helps us relate Bible principles to our circumstances. To do so, we need to consider factors such as motives, intentions, and the meaning that a custom has in the place where we live. This explains why two Christians may decide differently and both have a clean conscience. What matters is that each one has examined his situation and made sure to respect Jehovah’s principles.

Answer 3: The conscience can help us foresee the effect of a decision on our friendship with Jehovah. For it to do so properly, we must feed it with what we learn from the Bible, especially from Jesus’ teachings and example. In this way, we will know Jehovah’s viewpoint better. Even if we do not find an instruction that describes our exact situation, we will have a basis for choosing in a way that pleases him.

Answer 4: The example of the two brothers faced with a toast illustrates how it works. Both want to please Jehovah, but one is attending a social celebration and the other is facing nationalistic comments that affect his neutrality. Their conscience helps them recognize the difference and act accordingly. The lesson is that we should not automatically decide based on what someone else does, but examine our situation in the light of Bible principles.

Answers and comments from the Watchtower Study for January 4-10, 2027: Let Us Keep Educating Our Conscience to Please
