Why do we need to be rescued? (Romans 7:22-24; see also the image).

Answer:

We need to be rescued because we are trapped by inherited sin, just as a person gets trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building. We can’t get out of that situation ourselves. We can fight, improve some things and try very hard, but we cannot free ourselves from sin or death alone.

Answer:

Paul explained this situation very well in Romans 7:22-24. He loved God’s law and wanted to do the right thing, but realized that within himself there was another force pushing him into sin. Therefore he asked, “Who will deliver me from the body that is suffering this death?” I felt like I needed urgent help, not just a small adjustment.

Answer:

And we’re in exactly the same situation. Because they are descendants of Adam, we all inherit sin and, with him, condemn it to death. That’s why ransom is not a nice detail or a secondary doctrine. It’s an absolute necessity. Without ransom there is no real way out, there is no liberation and there is no hope of eternal life.

3. What things does rescue make possible?

Answer:

The ransom makes possible the forgiveness of our sins. That is already immense, because we all sin in one way or another, either by words, actions or even attitudes. Thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus, Jehovah has a legal and just basis to truly forgive us.

Answer:

It also makes possible our physical and emotional healing. Sin not only makes us make mistakes; it also makes us sick, wears us down, ages us and fills us with pain, guilt, anxiety and insecurity. The rescue opens the door for all of that to disappear completely in the future.

Answer:

And it also makes reconciliation with Jehovah possible. Without the ransom, we would still be separated from God for sin. But thanks to Jesus, we can approach Jehovah, have peace with him, pray with confidence and enjoy a real relationship with our heavenly Father.

4 and 5. Why do we all need the ransom? (Ecclesiastes 7:20).

Answer:

We all need the ransom because we all sin. Ecclesiastes 7:20 says it clearly: there is no human being on earth who always does good and never sinned. That includes us all, without exception. Some sins are more visible or more serious, but no one can honestly say that it is completely clean.

Answer:

Sometimes we sin with serious facts, but other times we sin with the tongue, with an attitude, with a reaction or with an incorrect thought. David himself acknowledged how important it was to watch his words, and James said we all stumbled upon many times what we say. That shows that the problem of sin is daily and deep.

Answer:

And when we think about our past, we all have something to regret. We’ve all said things we wish we hadn’t said or done things we wish we could erase. Therefore 1 John 1:8 says that if we affirm that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves. The ransom is necessary because none of us can present himself cleanly before Jehovah on his own merits.

6 and 7. What basis does Jehovah have to forgive our sins? (See also the image).

Answer:

The foundation that Jehovah has to forgive our sins is the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The perfect righteousness of Jehovah demands a valid basis for forgiveness; he cannot simply ignore sin as if it does not matter. Therefore he sent his Son to die for us and thus fully satisfy his standard of righteousness.

Answer:

The slaughter of animals under the Mosaic Law helped to understand this point. Those sacrifices did not really take away sin forever, but they were a shadow or anticipation of something much greater: the perfect sacrifice of Jesus. Jehovah prepared his people to understand the immense value of that provision.

Answer:

Thanks to the death of Jesus, Jehovah can forgive while being righteous. That is why Paul reminded the Corinthians that, although they had committed serious sins before, they had now been washed, sanctified and pronounced righteous. This shows that Jehovah’s forgiveness is neither sentimental nor superficial; it is firmly supported by the ransom.

8. What can we think about before attending the Commemoration this year?

Answer:

We can think about how much it benefits us to know that Jehovah forgives us. Thanks to the ransom, we do not have to continue crushing ourselves with sins of the past of those of us who have already repented. Jehovah does not want us to live in chains to blame when he has already shown us mercy.

Answer:

It is also appropriate to think of this: if Jehovah, who is the perfect Judge, decides to forgive us on the basis of the ransom, we have no right to say that his forgiveness is not enough. Sometimes a person thinks, “Jehovah forgives me, but I do not forgive myself.” But in reality, the one who has the authority to judge and forgive is Jehovah, not us.

Answer:

So before the Commemoration it would be very good to meditate on texts like 1 John 1:6, 7 and Psalm 86:5. Jehovah is willing to forgive. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. Believing this greatly strengthens our hearts and helps us to attend the Commemoration with more gratitude, more peace and more love for Jehovah.

9. What things does the word sin mean? (Psalm 51:5 and the note).

Answer:

The word sin not only refers to something bad that we do, such as a lie, a bad behavior or a hurtful word. It also refers to something we inherit: imperfection. Since we were born, we carry within that inclination to error, that weakness that accompanies us all our lives.

Answer:

That is why sin affects much more than conduct. It also affects the body and mind. It makes us get sick, it makes us get older, wears off emotionally and, in the end, leads us to death. That explains why even a baby can get sick or die without doing anything wrong personally.

Answer:

Understanding this helps to see the human situation more clearly. We do not only commit sins; we are sinners by inheritance. And that means that the ransom has to solve not only what we do wrong, but also the very condition we were born in. That’s why its value is so great and its effects are so deep.

10. How did Adam and Eve feel when they sinned and became imperfect?

Answer:

Adam and Eve immediately felt that something inside had changed for the worse. Until that moment they lived in peace with Jehovah and with a clean conscience, but as soon as they sinned they began to experience guilt, shame and fear. That’s why they tried to cover and hide, as if they were criminals fleeing from their Creator.

Answer:

For the first time they felt anxiety, insecurity and emotional pain. They no longer had the same inner tranquillity or closeness to Jehovah. This shows that sin not only brings legal or future consequences; it immediately hurts inside and breaks the person’s peace.

Answer:

And those feelings would accompany Adam and Eve until their death. To a greater or lesser degree, that happens to us. When we sin or when we suffer the consequences of imperfection, we feel guilt, shame, fear, sadness or pain. That’s why we need so much the ransom: because it attacks the root of that suffering.

11. What effect does imperfection have on us?

Answer:

Impreachment is the cause of our physical and emotional suffering. He pushes us into the bad, weakens us inside, makes us fight with negative thoughts and also deteriorates our body with disease, aging and death. There is no part of human life that has not been touched by sin.

Answer:

It also explains why, while humanity has tried to solve problems such as pollution, violence, poverty or war, the result remains so limited. Romans 8:20 says that creation was subjected to futility. The problem is not just a lack of human effort; it is a profound condition of imperfection.

Answer:

That helps us not to put unrealistic hope in human systems. Yes, there may be small advances, but not a definitive solution. As long as there is inherited sin, suffering will continue to appear in one way or another. That’s why the rescue is so necessary: because it offers real hope, not a simple temporary patch.

12. What hope do we have thanks to the rescue?

Answer:

Thanks to the ransom, we hope to be completely freed from slavery to corruption. That means the day will come when we will no longer suffer physical, mental or emotional illness. It will not be just a partial improvement; it will be a total release from all that sin has caused.

Answer:

We also hope to live without sick guilt, without anxiety, without insecurity, without shame and without that inner pain that so many times accompanies us today. Imagine us so, completely healthy inside and out, fills the heart with relief and illusion.

Answer:

And under the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, we can take care of the earth in peace and enjoy a stable, beautiful and safe life. That is not a human dream, but a promise guaranteed by the ransom. That is why our hope is so solid and so valuable.

13. What else can we meditate on before attending the Commemoration this year?

Answer:

We can meditate on what our life will be like when we are no longer imperfect. Waking up every day feeling good, without fear of illness, without the weight of emotional tiredness and without the threat of death, will be a wonderful experience that today we can hardly imagine at all.

Answer:

We can also think of our loved ones. What peace will it give you to know that you will never go hungry again, you will never get sick again or die. That hope not only consoles; it also stabilizes the heart, as Hebrews 6:18, 19 says, by comparing it with a firm anchor for the soul.

Answer:

And when we think about that before the Commemoration, our appreciation for the rescue grows a lot. We realize that it not only frees us from a legal problem before Jehovah; it also opens the door to a completely healthy, safe and happy future life. That makes the Commemoration touch the heart more.

14. When Adam and Eve sinned, what happened to our friendship with Jehovah, and why?

Answer:

When Adam and Eve sinned, mankind was separated from Jehovah. Sin opened an abyss between God and human beings, because Jehovah is perfect and his norms do not allow him to approve the evil. So the close relationship he wanted with the human family was broken.

Answer:

That’s why the Bible says that humanity is in enmity with God. It does not mean that Jehovah hate us, but that sin placed us in a position contrary to his holiness. As long as the problem of sin was not resolved, there could be no real reconciliation with him.

Answer:

That explains why the ransom was so necessary. It was not enough for the human being to want to improve – or be a religious. It took a legal and perfect bridge to get back to Jehovah. Without that bridge, we would still be separated from him as sincere as we wanted to be.

15. In what sense did the ransom for Jehovah?

Answer:

The ransom appeased Jehovah in the sense that he fully satisfied his justice. It does not mean that Jehovah was out of emotional control and that the death of Jesus would wad it, but that the sacrifice of his Son fulfilled the just requirement necessary to deal again favorably with human beings.

Answer:

In other words, the ransom gave Jehovah a legal basis to restore his good relationship with us. Romans 3:23-26 shows that Jehovah can be just and, at the same time, to declare righteous those who exercise faith in Jesus. That is precious: the mercy of Jehovah never passes over his righteousness.

Answer:

And that courage of the ransom was so certain from the beginning that Jehovah could even consider righteous servants who lived before the death of Christ, as Abraham. Why is that? Because I was completely convinced that Jesus would pay for that ransom. That shows how firm and I am sure the purpose of Jehovah is.

16. What else can we reflect on before attending the Commemoration this year? (See also the image).

Answer:

We can reflect on the privilege of calling Fashion Jehovah. Jesus taught us to address God like this, and that is a huge thing. Being able to talk to the Sovereign of the universe as with our Father shows the extent to which the ransom has changed our situation.

Answer:

We can also think about how special it is to say that Jehovah is our friend. Of course, we must always do it with humility and deep respect, because we are still imperfect. But the very fact that you can be close to Jehovah and enjoy your friendship is a huge blessing.

Answer:

And it should be remembered that this closeness does not exist on our merits. It’s not because we’re better than others or because we’ve achieved some perfection. It is only thanks to the blood of Jesus that he made peace with Jehovah possible. That makes the ransom even more valuable and personal.

17. Why does the ransom clearly show that Jehovah is merciful? (Ephesians 2:4, 5).

Answer:

The ranss of salvation clearly shows that Jehovah is merciful because he acted on our behalf when we were dead because of our offenses. He didn’t wait for us to solve our situation first. As a Father full of compassion, he took the initiative to help us when we could do nothing for ourselves.

Answer:

Moreover, Jehovah did not give the ransom reluctantly or out of obligation. He did it because he is rich in mercy. The fact that he sent his Son to save imperfect and sinful people demonstrates an immense, tender and very generous love.

Answer:

And that mercy is still visible today. Jehovah uses the message of the Kingdom to rescue people who recognize their spiritual need. When someone cries out for help, Jehovah responds by giving him and his Son a chance to meet him and his Son. That shows that his mercy is not an abstract idea, but something alive and active.

18. When meditating on the ransom, what should we not forget?

Answer:

We must not forget that, in addition to the personal benefits we receive, there is a greater matter at stake: sanctification of the name of Jehovah. The ransom was given not only to save us, but also to respond to the challenge that Satan threw in Eden and cleanse the reputation of Jehovah.

Answer:

Through the ransom, Jehovah proves that he is a God of love, righteousness and perfect wisdom. It shows that he can solve the problem of sin without overlooking his justice and without renouncing his original purpose for humanity. That greatly magnifies his name.

Answer:

And it is also nice to remember that Jehovah, by his undeserved goodness, allows us to participate in that great matter. When we remain faithful and grateful for the ransom, we contribute to demonstrating that Satan is a liar. That gives even more value to our relationship with Jehovah and to our spiritual life.

How does the forgiveness of our sins make rescue possible?

Answer:

It makes forgiveness possible because Jesus’ death paid the necessary price to cover our sins. Jehovah cannot ignore sin, but he can forgive him just when there is a valid basis. That basis is the perfect sacrifice of his Son.

Answer:

Thanks to this, Jehovah can cleanse imperfect people who truly repent. No matter how serious the sin of the past has been; if the person repents and exercises faith in the ransom, Jehovah can forgive her completely and see her favorably again.

Answer:

And that gives us a lot of peace. The rescue means we don’t have to live crushed forever by past mistakes. If Jehovah has already forgiven us, we can go ahead with a clean conscience, serving him with joy and gratitude, not enslaved by guilt.

How does rescue our physical and emotional healing make it possible?

Answer:

It makes our physical healing possible because the ransom eliminates the root of the problem: inherited sin. As long as sin exists, sickness, aging and death will continue to exist. But when the rescue effect is fully implemented, all of that will disappear.

Answer:

It also makes our emotional healing possible. Today we carry guilt, anxiety, shame, insecurity and a lot of pain in the interior. All this is related, one way or another, to imperfection. The rescue opens the door to a life in which those wounds will no longer exist.

Answer:

And that hope benefits us now. Meditating in the future that Jehovah promises gives us comfort and balance today. The hope of the rescue acts as a firm anchor, helping us to endure trials and not let us drag through discouragement or despair.

How does the rescue make reconciliation possible?

Answer:

It makes reconciliation possible because it satisfies Jehovah’s righteousness and removes the legal barrier that sin had built up between him and us. We were separated from God before, but thanks to the blood of Jesus there may be peace again between Jehovah and human beings.

Answer:

That means that we can now approach Jehovah with confidence, call him Father, pray to him and enjoy his friendship. Not because we are perfect or because we deserve it, but because Jesus opened that way and built, so to speak, the bridge that reconciles us with God.

Answer:

And that reconciliation is one of the most beautiful gifts of the rescue. It is not just about surviving or having a better future, but about regaining the relationship with our Creator. To be at peace with Jehovah is undoubtedly one of the greatest blessings that Jesus made possible.

With the title: Why we need the rescue The theme : The ransom makes possible the forgiveness of sins, physical and emotional healing, and reconciliation with God.
