He did not want them merely to accompany him or learn from him, but also to take an active part in announcing that message to other people.

Comment 2
That work included going from city to city and from village to village speaking about the Kingdom. Jesus trained them to bring hope to all kinds of people and to help others come to know Jehovah.

Comment 3
Besides preaching, they had to teach God’s Word and make disciples. It was not just a matter of giving a brief message, but of helping people learn, make changes, and eventually get baptized.

Comment 4
Jesus also taught them to see people as a field ripe for harvest. In other words, he helped them understand that many people had spiritual needs and that the work had to be done eagerly and urgently.

Comment 5
In short, Jesus entrusted them with a very complete work: to preach, teach, make disciples, and keep spreading the Kingdom message even after he returned to heaven.

Did his disciples like that work?

Comment 1
Yes, they did. You can see it in the fact that when Jesus called some of them, such as Peter, Andrew, James, and John, they immediately left their nets and followed him to devote themselves to that work.

Comment 2
It is also clear that they did it with enthusiasm, because they traveled with Jesus through Galilee and Judea, preaching in synagogues, marketplaces, and streets, not limiting themselves to just a few comfortable places.

Comment 3
When Jesus sent out the 70 in pairs, they came back eager to tell him how it had gone. That shows that they did not see preaching as a burden, but as a work that brought them joy.

Comment 4
It surely was not always easy, yet they kept at that work. That indicates that they truly valued it and understood that it came from Jehovah through Jesus.

Comment 5
Besides, seeing many others become disciples and get baptized must have encouraged them greatly. Seeing good results confirmed that it was an important and beautiful work.

Additional comments on lesson 78

What do we learn in this lesson about Jehovah, Jesus, and the Bible? And how can we apply it in our life today?

Comment 1
About Jehovah, we learn that he wants people to hear good news, not just warnings. He wants mankind to know about his Kingdom and to have real hope for the future.

Comment 2
About Jesus, we learn that he had a very clear sense of his mission. He himself said that he was sent to declare the good news of the Kingdom, and he did not let anything distract him from that main objective.

Comment 3
About the Bible, we learn that preaching the Kingdom was not something secondary in Jesus’ life, but the very center of his ministry. That helps us give the Kingdom the same place in our worship.

Comment 4
This lesson also teaches that Jesus trusted his disciples and trained them well. He did not do all the work by himself, but prepared others to continue it, showing that Jehovah uses imperfect people to accomplish his purpose.

Comment 5
Today we can apply this by taking preaching and teaching seriously. We may not all have the same circumstances, but we can all support that work and view it as a priority, not as something optional.

Book Study Lesson 79: Jesus Performs Many Miracles

Why was Jesus able to cure all kinds of sicknesses?

Comment 1
Jesus was able to cure all kinds of sicknesses because Jehovah had anointed him with holy spirit and power. He did not perform those miracles through human ability, but because God was with him.

Comment 2
The miracles proved that Jesus had Jehovah’s backing. They were clear evidence that he was the Messiah and that Jehovah was using him to do good for people.

Comment 3
He could also heal because Jehovah wanted people to see through those miracles, on a small scale, what the Kingdom will do on a grand scale when Jesus rules over the whole earth.

Comment 4
Every healing showed compassion, but also divine power. The blind could see, the deaf could hear, and the paralyzed could walk because the power at work in Jesus came directly from Jehovah.

Comment 5
In short, Jesus could heal any sickness because Jehovah gave him the holy spirit needed to do so and to show that the Kingdom will bring complete health to obedient mankind.

What happened to Jairus’s daughter?

Comment 1
Jairus’s daughter was very sick, and before Jesus arrived at the house, she died. So the family and the people there began to weep in deep grief.

Comment 2
When Jesus arrived, he told them not to weep, because the girl was “sleeping.” By that he meant that for Jehovah, death is not an impossible obstacle to overcome.

Comment 3
Then Jesus took the girl by the hand and told her to get up. Immediately she came back to life, got up, and began acting normally.

Comment 4
Afterward Jesus told her parents to give her something to eat. That detail makes the account even more touching, because it shows tenderness and proves that the girl was truly alive and well.

Comment 5
For Jairus and his family, it must have been an unforgettable moment. They went from the deepest grief to immense joy when they saw that Jesus had resurrected their daughter.

Additional comments on lesson 79

What do we learn in this lesson about Jehovah, Jesus, and the Bible? And how can we apply it in our life today?

Comment 1
About Jehovah, we learn that he is compassionate and wants to relieve human suffering. Jesus’ miracles beautifully reflect Jehovah’s feelings toward the sick, the distressed, and those who suffer.

Comment 2
About Jesus, we learn that he never used his power selfishly. He always used it to help, comfort, and strengthen the faith of others, even when he himself was tired or wanted to be alone.

Comment 3
About the Bible, we learn that Jesus’ miracles were not exaggerations or just touching stories. They serve a clear purpose: to show who Jesus was and what his Kingdom will do for mankind.

Comment 4
This lesson also teaches us gratitude. Of the ten lepers, only one came back to give thanks. That reminds us that it is not enough to receive help; we should also deeply appreciate what Jehovah and Jesus do for us.

Comment 5
Today we can apply this lesson by strengthening our faith in the Kingdom. If Jesus was able to heal the sick and raise the dead back then, there is no doubt that in the future he will be able to remove suffering and death completely.

Book Study Lesson 78: Jesus Preaches the Message of the Kingdom What work did Jesus give his disciples?
