Jeremiah 1:6-8<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Jeremiah 1:6-8: But I said, Alas, O Lord Sovereign Jehovah. I can&#8217;t talk. I&#8217;m just a boy. Jehovah said unto me, Say, I am not a layman. Because you have to go to all those who I send you to and you must say everything I command you. &#8220;Do not be intimidated by his appearance, for I am with you to save you,&#8221; says Jehovah.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 1:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>Jeremiah was a friend of Jehovah because, though he was afraid at first and thought he was too young, he heard Jehovah. He said, &#8220;I&#8217;m just a boy,&#8221; but he wasn&#8217;t paralyzed by that idea. He trusted that Jehovah would be with him and accepted the mission of speaking to the people.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 2:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>According to the video, Jeremiah lived at a time when God&#8217;s people were doing bad things. Jehovah sent him to tell them to change. Jeremiah proved to be a friend of Jehovah because he obeyed, although the task was not easy and although he himself thought he could not do so.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 3:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>Jeremiah befriends of Jehovah because he learned to trust in his promises. Jehovah told him not to be intimidated by the appearance of the people, for he would be with Jeremiah to save him. That promise gave him courage to talk even if others didn&#8217;t want to hear it.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 4:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>The video shows Jeremiah bravely preached for many years. That shows that his friendship with Jehovah was not a one-sick thing. He continued to trust Jehovah once and twice, even when people didn&#8217;t react well or when they had to give difficult messages.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 5:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>Jeremiah was a friend of Jehovah because he did not allow fear to decide for him. Pasjur, a priest, wanted Jeremiah to shut up and imprisoned him all night to scare him. Even so, Jeremiah did not abandon Jehovah. That shows a loyal and brave friendship.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 6:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>The video says Pasjur almost got Jeremiah to stop being a prophet. Jeremiah came to feel very discouraged. But he loved Jehovah so much that he couldn&#8217;t shut up. That teaches us that friendship with Jehovah is strengthened when love for him is greater than fear.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 7:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>Jeremiah was a friend of Jehovah because he felt his words as a fire in his heart. Although I wanted to stop talking, it couldn&#8217;t contain itself. That means the words of Jehovah were very important to him. He spoke not out of obligation, but because he loved Jehovah deeply.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 8:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>The video also shows Jeremiah loving people. He not preached just because Jehovah commanded him, but because he wanted people to listen and change. When some listened, Jeremiah felt happy. That shows he was a Jehovah&#8217;s friend with good feelings.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 9:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>Jeremiah was a friend of Jehovah because he accepted that Jehovah could use him even if he were young. He looked small and incapable, but Jehovah saw what he could do with his help. That teaches us that Jehovah can help us to be brave even if we feel insecure.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 10:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>The video sums up the idea very well: Jehovah&#8217;s friends trust him and talk about it with courage. Jeremiah did both. He trusted Jehovah when he was afraid, he continued to speak though they tried to shut him up and showed that his friendship with Jehovah was real.<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who do you want to talk about Jehovah?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 1:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I&#8217;d like to talk about Jehovah to a partner who may also be afraid or feel unsafe. Jeremiah thought he could not speak because he was young, but Jehovah helped him. That encourages me to think that I can speak with courage too, even if it costs me at first.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 2:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I&#8217;d like to talk about Jehovah to a relative who doesn&#8217;t know him well yet. Sometimes talking to the family can be ashamed or scared, but Jeremiah&#8217;s example teaches me that I shouldn&#8217;t be intimidated. Jehovah can help me speak with affection and respect.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 3:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I would like to speak of Jehovah to someone who is doing things that do not help him spiritually. In the video, Jehovah sent Jeremiah to tell the people to change. That reminds me that talking about Jehovah can help others make better decisions.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 4:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I would like to speak of Jehovah to a young person who thinks that it is not good to preach or who does not know what to say. Jeremiah also said he was just a boy. But Jehovah helped him. That may encourage other young people to see that Jehovah can use them.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 5:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I&#8217;d like to talk about Jehovah to someone who feels lonely or scared. Jehovah promised Jeremiah that he would be with him to save him. That idea can greatly help a person who needs to know that Jehovah does not abandon his friends.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 6:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I&#8217;d like to talk about Jehovah to a neighbor or acquaintance who sometimes seems sad or worried. I could tell you that Jehovah wants to be our friend and gives us strength. Jeremiah had very difficult problems, but Jehovah helped him move forward with courage.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 7:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I&#8217;d like to talk about Jehovah to someone who&#8217;s afraid of what others think. The video shows Jeremiah also had to confront people who wanted to shut him up. Still, he kept preaching. That encourages me to talk even if not everyone reacts well.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 8:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I&#8217;d like to talk about Jehovah to a friend who might listen with a good heart. The video says that when people listened, Jeremiah felt happy. That reminds me that it&#8217;s worth talking about Jehovah, because maybe someone will listen and that will help him a lot.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 9:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I would like to speak of Jehovah to someone who thinks that God is far away. Jeremiah came to know Jehovah as someone close, who encouraged him and protected him. I could help that person to see that Jehovah wants to be close to those who seek him.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 10:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I&#8217;d like to talk about Jehovah to someone who needs encouragement to change. In Jeremiah&#8217;s time, Jehovah wanted his people to stop doing evil things. That shows that Jehovah not only corrects, it also gives opportunities. That idea can help someone get close to him.<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What would you say to help him make friends with Jehovah?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 1:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I would tell you that Jehovah wants to be his friend and that he doesn&#8217;t have to wait to feel perfect or very brave. Jeremiah at first thought he couldn&#8217;t speak because he was young. But Jehovah helped him. That shows that Jehovah supports those who wish to serve Him.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 2:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I would tell him he can start by listening to what Jehovah says in the Bible. Jeremiah came to love both the words of Jehovah that he felt them as a fire in his heart. If a person reads the Bible and thinks about it, they may feel something similar.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 3:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I would tell him, when he is afraid, to remember what Jehovah said to Jeremiah: that he should not be intimidated because he would be with him. That promise shows that Jehovah does not leave his friends alone. He can give us value when we have to do something difficult.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 4:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I would tell you that Jehovah understands our fears. Jeremiah thought he could not fulfill his mission, but Jehovah did not reject it. Rather, he encouraged him and helped him. That teaches that Jehovah is patient and loving with those who want to approach him.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 5:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I would say that befriending Jehovah means trusting him, even when others try to discourage us. Pasjur wanted to frighten Jeremiah and make him shut up, but Jeremiah moved on. Jehovah can also help a person today to stand firm.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 6:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I would tell him that one way to approach Jehovah is to talk about him with others. The video explains that Jehovah&#8217;s friends trust him and talk about him with courage. When we share what we learn from Jehovah, our friendship with him becomes stronger.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 7:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I&#8217;d tell him Jehovah is happy when someone wants to change and do things right. In the video, Jehovah sent Jeremiah to tell the people to change. That shows that Jehovah does not want people to miss, but gives them opportunities to approach him.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 8:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I&#8217;d tell him he can pray to Jehovah and tell him what he feels. Jeremiah had moments of fear and discouragement, but Jehovah continued to help him. When a person prays with sincerity, he begins to see Jehovah not as someone far away, but as a friend who listens.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 9:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I would say you should not give up if you are at first having trouble speaking of Jehovah or understanding the Bible. Jeremiah also had difficult times and almost wanted to leave him. But his love for Jehovah helped him to follow. Friendship with Jehovah grows little by little.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Commentary 10:<\/strong><strong><br\/><\/strong>I&#8217;d say knowing Jehovah gives joy. The video shows Jeremiah feeling happy when people listened.
