In fact, he himself said several times that he found no crime in him. But he allowed himself to be pressured by the crowd and by the religious leaders. This teaches us that knowing what is right is not enough; we also have to have the courage to do it.

Comment 2:
Pilate allowed Jesus to be killed because he wanted to please the people rather than defend justice. Although he had the authority to release him, he gave in to the shouts of those who demanded his death. His example warns us of the danger of acting out of fear of what others think.

Comment 3:
Pilate tried to free himself of responsibility, but in the end he allowed a terrible injustice. He knew that Jesus was innocent, but he did not want to confront Jesus’ enemies. This shows that staying neutral in the face of an injustice can also make us responsible.

Comment 4:
Pilate’s decision showed moral weakness. He had proof that Jesus did not deserve to die, but he preferred to avoid trouble. This helps us to value even more the example of Jesus, who always did what was right even when it cost him suffering.

Comment 5:
Pilate allowed Jesus to be killed because he put his position and his peace of mind above justice. Instead of acting with righteousness, he gave in to pressure. This teaches us that we should obey Jehovah even when others pressure us to do the opposite.

Jesus cared more about others than about himself. How did he show this?

Comment 1:
Jesus showed this when, even while suffering on the torture stake, he asked Jehovah to forgive those who were taking part in his execution. Instead of focusing only on his pain, he thought about their ignorance. That shows impressive mercy and love.

Comment 2:
He also showed it by caring for his mother, Mary. Although he was going through extreme suffering, he asked John to take care of her. This teaches us that true love does not disappear in difficult moments; on the contrary, it becomes more evident.

Comment 3:
Jesus thought about the criminal who showed faith. He gave him a precious hope by promising him that he would be in Paradise. Even though Jesus was dying, he was still comforting and strengthening others. That shows that his love was constant and completely sincere.

Comment 4:
During his final hours, Jesus did not respond with hatred or a desire for revenge. He prayed for others, gave hope, and cared for his mother. His attitude teaches us that Christian love is shown especially when we suffer or when others treat us badly.

Comment 5:
Jesus showed that he cared more about others by remaining faithful to the end. Thanks to his death, all of us can have the hope of forgiveness and everlasting life. He did not think about saving himself, but about doing Jehovah’s will to benefit humankind.

Additional comments on lesson 90: What do we learn about Jehovah in this lesson?

Comment 1:
We learn that Jehovah allowed his Son to suffer not because he was unfeeling, but because he wanted to accomplish his purpose to save humankind. That helps us to see how great his love is. Jehovah was willing to give what was most precious to ransom us.

Comment 2:
This lesson teaches us that Jehovah always keeps his promises. The death of Jesus was not a defeat, but part of the divine purpose. As 2 Corinthians 1:20 says, God’s promises become a reality through Christ. That strengthens our trust in Jehovah.

Comment 3:
We see that Jehovah greatly values justice. Although Jesus was treated unjustly by men, Jehovah did not forget his faithfulness. This encourages us because, even though we see injustices today, we know that Jehovah sees everything and will act at the right time.

Comment 4:
We learn that Jehovah is merciful. Thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus, we can receive forgiveness and have a clean relationship with God. Jehovah did not look for the easiest way, but the most loving and just way to help us recover what Adam lost.

Comment 5:
This lesson shows us that Jehovah can turn a painful situation into a great blessing. For many, the death of Jesus seemed like the end. But for Jehovah it was the means to open the way to life. That helps us to trust in him when we do not understand everything.

What practical lessons do we learn to apply in our life today?

Comment 1:
We learn not to let ourselves be carried along by the pressure of the majority. Pilate knew what was right, but he gave in. We too can face pressure at work, at school, or in the family. This lesson encourages us to stay firm and to please Jehovah rather than men.

Comment 2:
Jesus teaches us to think of others even when we are suffering. At times, when we have problems, we can become wrapped up in ourselves. But the example of Jesus encourages us to keep showing love, interest, and compassion for those around us.

Comment 3:
We also learn to forgive. Jesus asked Jehovah to forgive those who did not understand what they were doing. That does not mean approving of what is bad, but it does mean avoiding resentment. Forgiving helps us to have peace and to imitate Jehovah’s mercy.

Comment 4:
Jesus’ attitude teaches us to keep our dignity when we are treated badly. He did not respond with insults or threats. We can imitate him by speaking calmly, maintaining respect, and trusting that Jehovah sees our faithfulness.

Comment 5:
This lesson helps us to value the ransom more. Jesus suffered and died so that we could have hope. So in our daily life we can show gratitude by obeying Jehovah, preaching with enthusiasm, and striving to live in a way that honors Christ.

Lesson 91: The Resurrection of Jesus

What happened when the women went to Jesus’ tomb?

Comment 1:
When the women went to the tomb, they found that the stone had been rolled away and that the tomb was open. Then an angel told them not to be afraid, because Jesus had been resurrected. That turned their sadness into news full of hope.

Comment 2:
The women expected to find the body of Jesus, but Jehovah had already acted. The tomb was empty, and an angel confirmed to them that Jesus was alive. This shows that Jehovah can completely change a situation that seems lost.

Comment 3:
It strikes me that the women went early to the tomb, showing love and loyalty to Jesus. Jehovah rewarded that loyalty by letting them receive wonderful news: Jesus had been resurrected. This teaches us that Jehovah values those who seek to serve him with sincere affection.

Comment 4:
The angel gave them an assignment: to tell the disciples that Jesus had been resurrected. That shows that Jehovah used those faithful women to convey an extremely important message. It reminds us that all of us can be useful to Jehovah if we are loyal and obedient.

Comment 5:
What the women found confirmed that Jesus’ enemies could not prevent Jehovah’s purpose. Although they sealed the tomb and posted guards, Jesus was resurrected. This strengthens our faith that nothing can stop what Jehovah decides to do.

What happened on the road to Emmaus?

Comment 1:
Two disciples were walking toward Emmaus, sad and confused. Then Jesus approached them, although at first they did not recognize him. He explained to them from the Scriptures that the Christ had to suffer and be resurrected. That helped them to recover their faith.

Comment 2:
On the road to Emmaus, Jesus did not just tell them who he was; first he helped them to reason from the Scriptures. This teaches us that the Bible has the power to clear up doubts, strengthen faith, and help us to see matters from Jehovah’s point of view.

Comment 3:
The disciples were discouraged because they did not understand everything that had happened. Jesus listened to them and then patiently explained the prophecies to them. This teaches us that Jehovah and Jesus do not reject those who have sincere doubts, but help them to strengthen their faith.

Comment 4:
When Jesus prayed over the bread, the disciples realized who he was. That moment must have filled their hearts with joy. Afterward they ran to Jerusalem to tell about it. When someone recovers their faith and hope, they feel the desire to share it with others.

Comment 5:
The account of Emmaus reminds us that at times we can be so sad that we do not clearly see how Jehovah is helping us. But Jesus approached those disciples and strengthened them. That encourages us to keep listening to God’s Word when we are discouraged.

Additional comments on lesson 91: What do we learn about Jehovah in this lesson?

Comment 1:
We learn that Jehovah has power over death. By resurrecting Jesus, he showed that no situation is beyond his control. This gives us a firm hope, especially when we think about our loved ones who have died.

Comment 2:
We also learn that Jehovah fulfills everything he promises. Jesus had said that he would be resurrected, and that is what happened. Although his disciples at first did not understand it well, Jehovah kept his word. This encourages us to trust fully in his promises.

Comment 3:
Jehovah is a God who comforts. After the death of Jesus, his disciples were sad, frightened, and confused. But Jehovah let them receive clear proof of the resurrection. In this way he strengthened their faith and restored their joy.

Comment 4:
This lesson shows that Jehovah values sincere faith, even if it is weak at first. Mary, the women, and the disciples needed help to understand what had happened. Jehovah did not abandon them, but gave them proof and encouragement. That reassures us when we too need to strengthen our faith.

Comment 5:
We learn that Jehovah uses the Scriptures to help us understand his purpose. Jesus explained the prophecies to the disciples of Emmaus, and that opened their eyes. Today Jehovah also guides us by means of his Word so that we do not lose hope.

What practical lessons do we learn to apply in our life today?

Comment 1:
One practical lesson is not to lose hope when things seem difficult. The disciples thought that everything was over, but Jesus was alive. We too can trust that Jehovah can provide a way out or comfort even in very dark moments.

Comment 2:
We learn the importance of studying and meditating on the Scriptures. Jesus strengthened the disciples by using God’s Word. When we have doubts, sadness, or fear, the Bible can help us to recover our calm and to see things with more faith.

Comment 3:
We also learn to share the good news with enthusiasm. Mary and the disciples of Emmaus did not keep to themselves what they had seen; they went to tell about it. We too can talk to others about the hope that Jehovah gives us through Jesus.

Comment 4:
This lesson teaches us to value the resurrection. It is not just a beautiful teaching, but a guarantee based on what Jehovah has already done with Jesus. That hope can give us strength to endure the loss of loved ones and to keep serving with faith.

Comment 5:
We learn that Jesus takes an interest in his disciples when they are discouraged. He approached the ones going to Emmaus, listened to them, and helped them. We can imitate him by listening patiently to those who are weak and by using the Bible to encourage them with affection.

Lesson 90: Jesus Dies at Golgotha Why did Pilate allow Jesus to be killed?
