So, sure, most of them seemed impossible for him to change. But Jesus didn&#8217;t have that limited vision. Both he and his Father looked at the good qualities of Saul. Jesus said, &#8220;This man is an instrument chosen by me.&#8221; (Acts. 9:15). He even used a miracle to help him repent (Hech. 7:58-8:3; 9:1-9, 17-20). Some time later, when Saul became a Christian and was known as the apostle Paul, he often gave thanks for the goodness and mercy with which Jehovah and Jesus had treated him (1 Tim. 1:12-15). On one occasion, Paul learned that a scandal had been set up because there was a problem of sexual immorality in the congregation of Corinth. How did you handle the problem? What he did teaches us much about the love and discipline of Jehovah, and on the importance of showing mercy.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>And it is based on the August 2024 Watchtower with the theme: \u201cJehovah Wants Everyone to Repent.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Few people have had to regret as many things as Saul of Tarsus. He cruelly and ruthlessly pursued the followers of Christ. So, sure, most of them seemed impossible for him to change. But Jesus didn&#8217;t have that limited vision. Both he and his Father looked at the good qualities of Saul. Jesus said, &#8220;This man is an instrument chosen by me.&#8221; (Acts. 9:15). Full of thanksgiving, he taught: &#8220;In His goodness God is trying to lead you to repentance.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On one occasion, Paul learned that a scandal had been set up because there was a problem of sexual immorality in the congregation of Corinth. How did you handle the problem? What he did teaches us much about the love and discipline of Jehovah, and on the importance of showing mercy. We will analyse the story in detail in the following article.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Now we move on to our personal analysis for today\u2019s daily text:\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main idea is that Jehovah does not use goodness to overlook sin, but to move us to change. His patience, his mercy and his way of treating us with dignity are not weakness: they are a loving invitation to repent and return to him.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saul of Tarsus&#8217; example leaves him very clear. Saul cruelly persecuted Christians, and for many it seemed impossible for him to change. But Jesus did not have a limited vision. He and his Father saw something else: good qualities in Saul and a potential for service. Therefore Jesus said, &#8220;This man is an instrument chosen by me.&#8221; (Acts 9:15). He even used a miracle to stop him, make him reflect and help him repent (Acts 7:58-8:3; 9:1-9, 17-20). The result was a radical change: Saul became Paul, and during his life he gave many thanks for the goodness and mercy that Jehovah and Jesus showed him (First to Timothy 1:12-15).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then the text mentions another case: the problem of sexual immorality in Corinth. Paul had to manage discipline, and that teaches us something balanced: biblical discipline is not cruelty, and mercy is not permissive. Jehovah combines both: love that corrects and mercy that seeks to recover.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can we apply today\u2019s daily text?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, if Jehovah is correcting you by conscience, by a biblical counsel, for a reading that touches you, do not see it as an attack. Watch as Romans 2:4: goodness who wants to save you. Take a concrete step of repentance today: identify what needs to be changed, pray for forgiveness, and establishes a practical measure not to repeat it.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Second, change the way you look at others. If anyone seems impossible to you, remember Saul. Instead of labeling, he thinks, &#8220;Jehovah can see qualities that I don&#8217;t see.&#8221; That will make you more patient in preaching and more merciful in the congregation.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Third (very practical): Learn the balance, truth with mercy. If you have to correct or advise someone (a son, partner, brother), imitate Jehovah: speaks clearly, but in order to help return, not to humiliate.
