What basic needs did Jehovah create us with? (Matthew 5:3).

Answer:

Jehovah created us with very clear physical needs: food, clothing and shelter. If you miss any of those things, even for a short time, you can soon tell how life gets complicated. That shows that Jehovah understands our limitations and is interested in our daily well-being.

Answer:

But Jesus added something just as real: we also have spiritual needs. If we do not attend to them, we may continue to pull, but inside we will go emptying ourselves: we lose peace, purpose and joy. Therefore Matthew 5:3 says that those who recognize that need and care for it are happy.

Answer:

Recognizing that need is humility: admitting I’m not enough. And when one admits it, he begins to seek with desire what Jehovah gives: his Word, the prayer, the meetings, and the support of the congregation. There life stops being just holding on and it happens to have direction and hope.

2. What example helps us understand what it means to recognize our spiritual needs?

Answer:

The example of the beggar leaves him very clear: someone so in need who can’t pretend that everything is going well. He is weak, resourceless and exposed, and knows he needs help to improve his situation. That awareness pushes him to seek help urgently, not routinely.

Answer:

Being mends of the spirit means being very aware that without Jehovah we did not go forth. It is not low self-esteem; it is spiritual lucidity. That is, I need guidance, forgiveness, strength and spiritual food every day if I want to live well and be close to God.

Answer:

That attitude makes you receptive and grateful. Instead of living with self-sufficiency, you take advantage of the spiritual gifts that Jehovah gives. And when you take advantage of them, you can see: more stability, more peace, more faith… and also more capacity to encourage and help others.

3. What will we see in this article?

Answer:

First we will see the example of the Phoenician woman who begged Jesus for help for her daughter. This account highlights three qualities that are basic to those who recognize their spiritual needs: humility, persistence and faith. Without those qualities, it’s easy to give up or react badly.

Answer:

Then we will analyze the example of three very spiritual men: the apostle Peter, the Apostle Paul and King David. The idea is to see how Jehovah covers food, clothing, and “confidence” in a spiritual sense, and how they benefited from that help.

Answer:

And the most practical thing: we will see what we have to do to continue to benefit today. Because Jehovah gives generously, but we have to keep approaching, keep looking and continue to take advantage of what he offers, especially when life tightens.

4. What did the Phoenician woman want Jesus to do for her?

Answer:

He wanted Jesus to release his daughter, who was cruelly possessed by a demon. It was not a whim: it was an emergency that broke his heart. That’s why he came up, knelt down and begged him for help with complete sincerity.

Answer:

She was not paralyzed by pain; she acted and sought Jesus with faith. That teaches that recognizing a spiritual need pushes you to get close to where the help is, not to lock yourself in the why me? or to blame God.

Answer:

And he did it as a non-Jewish woman. Still, he didn’t think I have no right. It was with humility and confidence. That combination – humility and faith – shows a heart that recognizes your need and is willing to do whatever it takes to get help.

5. What qualities did the Phoenician woman demonstrate, and what did Jesus do? (See also the image).

Answer:

It showed humility. He was not offended or left when Jesus proved it with a comparison that could have hurt him. She could have felt insulted and left, but she remained focused on the important thing: I need help and trust you.

Answer:

It showed persistence. He begged him again and again, without demanding, without getting aggressive. That insistence was not pride; it was respectful perseverance. Sometimes help comes after continuing to ask with faith, without giving up on a first response that we did not expect.

Answer:

He showed strong faith, and Jesus recognized him. Although at first he mentioned that his mission was focused on Israel, Jesus expelled the demon and helped his daughter. Lesson: Jehovah and Jesus rejoice to meet spiritual needs when they see humility, persistence, and real faith.

6. What do we learn from the Phoenician woman’s account?

Answer:

That to meet our spiritual needs we need humility, persistence, and strong faith. Humility makes us ask for help without pride; persistence keeps us close to Jehovah even if it costs us; and faith sustains us even if the answer is not immediate.

Answer:

We also learn to insist well: without demanding, without anger, without surrendering. Jehovah does not bother because we beg him; on the contrary, he rejoices when he sees that we depend on him truly. The humble insistence is a sign of trust, not rebellion.

Answer:

And we learn to let ourselves be guided. Recognizing spiritual needs includes having faith in Jesus Christ and trusting whom he is using to lead his disciples. Mature faith does not cling to my way; accepts guidance, adjusts the mind and continues to advance.

7. What task did Peter receive, but what else did he have to do? (Hebrews 5:14-6:1).

Answer:

Peter received a huge task: to feed the Auses of Jesus, to strengthen others and guide them. Jehovah used it a lot, even to write inspired letters that continue to feed us today. He was not a spectator: he was an instrument for giving spiritual food.

Answer:

But Peter also needed to feed himself. I couldn’t live off what I already knew. He had to continue studying and growing, even reading what Paul wrote for inspiration. That teaches that, even if you have responsibilities, you never cease to need spiritual food.

Answer:

Hebrews 5:14:1 teaches that we must move toward solid food. It’s not just learning more data: it’s training discernment, mature and applying. That growth makes you firmer, less manipulable and more useful to help others with balance and affection.

8. What did Peter do when he received new instructions from Jehovah?

Answer:

Peter obeyed, although at first he was shocked. His education and customs told him one thing, but when Jehovah clarified the matter, Peter let himself be taught. That is practical faith: not only, believe, but adjusting the mind when Jehovah guides.

Answer:

Then he acted. He didn’t stay in, I understand it anymore; he stepped through and went to Cornelius’ house, something he would never have done before. That speed to obey shows authentic humility: put Jehovah’s direction above your preferences or your previous way of thinking.

Answer:

And the lesson for us is straightforward: when there is new enlightenment or adjustments to the biblical understanding, we do not take it as a personal attack. We see him as a loving guide. Resisting out of pride cuts to growth; accepting humbly keeps us well fed and useful.

9. What benefits do we derive from developing a strong desire for solid spiritual food?

Answer:

First, we know Jehovah better. Deep truths aren’t just information: they help you see how Jehovah thinks, how it works and why. That motivates you to love and respect it more, and strengthen your confidence when doubts or trials come.

Answer:

Second, it impels us to speak to others about how wonderful Jehovah is. When you’re well fed, you’re born to share. Preaching stops feeling like complying and becomes more an overflow of gratitude and conviction.

Answer:

And there is a very practical benefit: solid food gives you stability to accept adjustments with good attitude. If you really want to keep feeding yourself, don’t hold on to pride or custom. You accept the guide without delay, and that keeps you strong, flexible and spiritually useful.

10. What does it mean to be well dressed spiritually? (Colossians 3:8-10).

Answer:

It implies taking off the old personality and dressing up with the new one. It’s not a facade change; it’s a real change in how you think, how you react and how you treat others. Colossians 3:8-10 presents it as a conscious and continuous process.

Answer:

It also implies constancy. Just as physical clothing gets dirty, the spiritual cloak can be stained if we lower our guard. That’s why every day we choose: I take off old habits (anger, malice, harmful language) and put on new qualities.

Answer:

And it means adapting to what Jehovah expects, not the other way around. The new personality is not something you adjust to your style; you change to fit in with the way Jehovah’s thinking. That humble attitude protects you and makes you cleaner on the inside.

11. What defection of his old personality did Paul fight against?

Answer:

Paul fought against a short fuse character. Before I was a Christian, I was so furious that he was chasing the disciples and even wanted to kill them. That shows how strong an old personality can be when the mind is misdirected.

Answer:

Even after becoming a Christian, he had a serious stumbling block: a disagreement with Barnabas ended in a strong outburst of anger. That teaches realism: although you make a lot of progress, the old personality can look out in times of pressure.

Answer:

The nice thing is that Paul didn’t give up or justify himself. He acknowledged that it was a step back, but he continued to fight to preserve God’s approval. The goal is not to fail, but not to stop fighting and continue to change with humility.

12. How did Paul manage to take off his old personality?

Answer:

Not trusting his own strength. Paul understood that real change is not only a willpower; it is to depend on Jehovah and the strength that God gives. That includes praying, asking for help, and letting Jehovah shape your reactions over time.

Answer:

When he made mistakes and he was discouraged, he didn’t sink into barren guilt. He focused on the good things that Jehovah had already done for him, and that gave him energy back to keep fighting. It’s a healthy approach: learning, getting up and continuing.

Answer:

And it was constant. The change was not instant: it was a sustained transformation. Jehovah does not expect immediate perfection; a humble heart that does not surrender, that continues to fight against its imperfections and allows Jehovah to refine him day by day.

13. How can we imitate Paul?

Answer:

Making an ongoing effort to take off our old personality and put on the new one. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been in the truth for a short or long time: the process is the same. Every day you decide what you take away and what you wear, with realistic goals and constancy.

Answer:

If we take a step back – for example, in character or tongue, we don’t label ourselves as a lost case. Instead of giving up, we redouble the effort: we adjust the mind, ask for help and continue to transform our way of thinking and act.

Answer:

And remembering a key point: the new personality does not suit our taste. We are the ones who have to change to adapt to what God expects. That humility avoids excuses and pushes us to real change, not to a change of kind.

14, 15. How does Jehovah protect his people today? (Psalm 27:5; see also the image).

Answer:

Jehovah protects his people by making sure that nothing and no one can destroy the faith of his servants. There may be pressure, persecution or attacks, but Jehovah promises that there will be no irreparable damage to those who take refuge in it. That is a profound protection: that of faith.

Answer:

Moreover, Jehovah not only protects from external things: it also helps us deal with concerns and internal burdens so that we continue to serve him. When the heart is overwhelmed, Jehovah can give comfort, peace, and support so that we do not collapse within us.

Answer:

And Jehovah protects us by practical means: the congregation, shepherds who care and meetings that strengthen. That shelter is not just a nice idea; it translates into real and constant help. Searching for that protection is a form of spiritual wisdom.

16. How did Jehovah protect David?

Answer:

When David obeyed Jehovah, Jehovah protected him by helping him make good decisions. Many times protection begins there: Jehovah guides you to choose well and thus avoid painful consequences that those who do not respect their rules usually suffer.

Answer:

And when David suffered because of others, he took refuge in prayer. Jehovah protected him by giving him comfort and assuring him that he loved him and would take care of him. The Psalms show that confidence: Jehovah as a Shepherd who sustains and calms, even in dark moments.

17. How can we imitate David?

Answer:

Let us imitate David by turning to Jehovah when we have to make decisions. We don’t decide just for emotion or pressure; we pray, we look for principles and ask for guidance. This custom avoids many pains and keeps you within the shelter of Jehovah.

Answer:

We also imitate David being realistic: if we make bad decisions, Jehovah does not protect us from all the consequences. That doesn’t mean I stop loving us; it means that sowing brings harvest. That conscience makes us accountable and helps us correct in time.

Answer:

And when we face difficulties because of others, we take refuge in prayer. It is not just to unburden us; it is to trust that Jehovah will protect our hearts and mind. That inner peace is a huge part of the spiritual shelter.

18. What challenge do we face, and how can we continue to meet our spiritual needs? (See the images too).

Answer:

The challenge is the environment around us: many people are unhappy because they deny their spiritual needs or try to fill that void – in their own way – with human philosophies. That spirit sticks if we’re not alert, because it’s constant and sounds convincing.

Answer:

In order not to be infected, we must continue to satisfy our spiritual needs without pause: to feed on the Word of God, put on the new personality and seek the shelter that Jehovah gives. It’s not a streak; it’s a lifestyle.

Answer:

And to do so, more than ever, means constancy. Just as you eat every day, you also need daily or regular spiritual food, well-kept spiritual clothing and shelter in Jehovah. That routine keeps you happy, stable and protected, even when the world around is emptying.

Review questions

What can we do to take advantage of spiritual food?

Answer:

Maintain a balanced diet: milk (the basics) and solid food. (deeper truths). Don’t be left alone with the easy; delve deeper with study and meditation, even if some things cost. That effort strengthens the faith of truth.

Answer:

Read and study with humility and constancy, like Peter: admitting this is hard on me and moving on. And when there are adjustments to the biblical understanding, accepting them with good attitude, because that is also part of being well fed.

Answer:

Apply what we learn. Spiritual food serves only to know; it serves to live better: to think like Jehovah, make good decisions and endure. When you apply, the food really nourishes and makes you more useful to help others.

What can we do to take advantage of spiritual clothing?

Answer:

Identify which part of the old personality tries to return: character, language, pride, habits. And attack him decisively, not with excuses. Remove and dress up is a continuous action: leave the old and practice the new.

Answer:

Depending on Jehovah, not just willpower. Pray, ask for help, accept correction, and use the Bible as a mirror. Jehovah gives you the clothes, but you have to put on it every day and take care of her so that it doesn’t get stained.

Answer:

Be realistic: if I take a step back, I don’t declare myself miss-out. I readjust and keep transforming my mind. The new personality does not adapt to my comfort; I adapt to what Jehovah expects. That mentality underpins change.

What can we do to take advantage of the spiritual shelter?

Answer:

Refuse us in Jehovah with prayer and confidence, especially when the pressure comes, because of others. That shelter protects the heart and mind, and prevents pain from turning you into a bitter or cold person.

Answer:

To take advantage of the protection that Jehovah gives through the congregation: meetings, grazing, spiritual family. If I want shelter, I don’t isolate myself; I’m close. Jehovah uses those means to hold and care, and there you can see his practical love.

Answer:

Keep the perspective: no one can do irreparable harm to us if we continue to hold Jehovah. There may be loss and pain, yes, but Jehovah can sustain our faith and give us peace. That conviction is an essential part of the spiritual shelter.

Study of This Week’s Watchtower from March 2-8 March 2026 for the JW meeting of Jehovah’s Witnesses, analysis of The Watchtower with practical answers and short comments and reading of the article.

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[66
67
post-5331","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-the-watchtower","tag-this-weeks-watchtower-study
"1536x1536":false,"2048x2048":false
"picfw_contain_300":false,"picfw_contain_600":false,"picfw_contain_1200":false
Study of This Week's Watchtower from March 2-8 March 2026 for the JW meeting of Jehovah's Witnesses, analysis of The Watchtower with practical answers and short comments and reading of the article.
JW-Tagestext für Samstag, den 28.
