The Biblical text is 1 Thessalonians 5:21, which reads:<\/p>\n\n

Check all things and hold on to what’s right.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

The daily text for today is as follows:\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n

Parents have many opportunities to talk to their children about the Bible and faith in God. For example, they can have interesting conversations during the visit to a museum. They could highlight historical objects or events that reinforce their children’s conviction that the Bible is accurate. Do they know that the name of God appears on a 3,000-year-old slab known as the Moabite stone? You can see a replica in the exhibition The Bible and the Divine Name of the Jehovah’s World Witness Centre in Warwick, New York. The Moabite stone records that King Messa of Moab rebelled against Israel. And that is in line with what the Bible says (2 King. 3:4, 5). Your children’s faith will be strengthened when they see with their own eyes proof that the Bible tells the truth and is accurate.<\/p>\n\n

And it is based on The Watchtower of December 2024 with the theme: How to help children strengthen their faith.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Christian fathers recognize that faith in God is not inherited. You were not born having faith in Jehovah, and your children neither. That is why it is natural that, in time, they ask themselves: How do I know that God exists? Can I trust what the Bible says? In reality, the Bible itself encourages Christians to use their ability to reason and to check all things (Rom. 12:1; 1 Tes. 5:21). Now, how can you help your children strengthen your faith?<\/p>\n\n

Stretch your ability to reason. Parents have many opportunities to talk to their children about the Bible and faith in God. They can have interesting conversations during a visit to a museum, a botanical garden or some exhibition at one of the Jehovah’s Witness branches. For example, when visiting a museum, whether in person or virtually, they could highlight historical objects or events that reinforce their children’s conviction that the Bible is accurate. Do they know that the name of God appears on a 3,000-year-old slab known as the Moabite stone? The original stone is located in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. Now we move on to our personal analysis for today\u2019s daily text:\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n

The main idea is that Jehovah does not want a naive faith, but a faith with foundation. Checking means examining, contrasting and making sure that what we believe and teach has a real basis. And to lay down to what’s right means that, when we find the right thing, we don’t let go even if there’s pressure, doubts or voices against it.<\/p>\n\n

The comment applies this principle to parenting: parents have many opportunities to strengthen their children’s faith in everyday contexts, even on departures like a museum. The goal is not only to give information, but to help them see evidence that the Bible is accurate. For example, the Moabite stone (an ancient slab that speaks of the king Messa of Moab) is mentioned and how his account is consistent with what the Bible says about his rebellion against. When children see evidence with their own eyes, their confidence in the Bible can become more solid and personal, not borrowed.<\/p>\n\n

How can we apply today\u2019s daily text?<\/h2>\n\n

First: turn any way out or conversation into a moment of check. In a museum, a documentary or even a news story, ask 2 simple questions:<\/p>\n\n

  • What’s the test of this?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • What can we compare it to?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    That’s how you teach your kids to think, not just to repeat.<\/p>\n\n

    Second: prepare a mini conversation before and after.<\/p>\n\n

      \n
    • Before: Today we’re going to look for something that confirms that the Bible is historical and accurate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Then: What did you see that helped you trust more? What surprised you?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

      That makes learning stay.<\/p>\n\n

      Third: trains the habit of holding on to the good in the practical. When your child finds a good reason to believe (a historical fact, a functioning principle, a biblical answer), encourage him to write a sentence:<\/p>\n\n

      Today I checked that…<\/p>\n\n

      and keep it. Eventually he will have a “archive” of his own faith.<\/p>\n\n

      Fourth (very useful): apply the text to the internet as well. Show them a clear rule: If I can’t check it, I don’t share it. That protects your mind and faith from rumors, theories and manipulative content.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
