This shows that, even if there is strong opposition, no one can stop the purpose of Jehovah. When he decides something, he does it at the moment and the way he wants.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 4<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John the Baptist had a very special assignment: to prepare people to receive the Messiah. And he did it with humility. He did not seek prominence for himself, but to direct attention to Jesus. That spirit always embellishes any service to Jehovah.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 5<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From a hand, Jesus loved the wisdom of Jehovah and trusted in the guidance of his Father. That detail impresses, because it shows that true maturity is not to trust oneself, but to let oneself be formed by Jehovah from an early age.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Book Study lesson chapter 68: Elizabeth has a baby<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 1<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zacharias and Elizabeth had been waiting for me for many years to something that seemed to never come. Jehovah did not cancel his purpose because Zechariah doubted for a moment. He corrected it, yes, but the promise went on. This speaks of the firmness of Jehovah and also of his mercy.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 5<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That Zacharias was speechless had to impact people very much. It was a clear way to show that that came from God and that what happened in the sanctuary was not imagination or exaggeration.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 6<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Elizabeth became pregnant, it was confirmed that for Jehovah there are no human limits. What was impossible for them by age, for Jehovah was completely achievable. That greatly strengthens faith.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 7<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The detail of the name Juan is also weighty. It was not a family choice or inherited custom. It was the name that Jehovah had decided, and obeying in something so concrete showed respect for the divine direction.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 8<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Zechariah wrote His name is John, he showed that he had already learned the lesson. Now he doesn&#8217;t question or argue; he just obeys. And right there gets the speech back. It is as if his obedience confirmed that he had heartened the will of Jehovah.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 9<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People started wondering what would become that child. And rightly, for it was clearly seen that Jehovah was behind his birth. Sometimes, when Jehovah prepares someone for an assignment, it is noticed from a very early age that his life has a special purpose.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 10<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The prophecy of Zechariah is precious because it focuses not only on John, but on the Messiah. John would have a very important job, but always in relation to someone older than him. She was a young woman from Nazareth, a rare population, but Jehovah saw her with great courage. That remembers that Jehovah is not seeking human greatness, but a clean and available attitude.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 2<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Gabriel tells her that Jehovah has greatly favored her, Mary does not respond with pride or air of importance. Rather, he&#8217;s left thinking about what those words meant. That modesty says a lot about his character.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 3<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proclamation about Jesus is extraordinary: it was not only a son, but the future King whose Kingdom would last forever. From the beginning it became clear that the birth of Jesus was directly linked to the fulfillment of Jehovah&#8217;s purpose.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 4<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mary&#8217;s question is not born of rebellious unbelief, but from the desire to understand. And the angel&#8217;s answer leaves one of the great truths of the Bible: for Jehovah nothing is impossible. That phrase, on its own, already strengthens a lot.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 5<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mary&#8217;s attitude is exemplary. She replies: I am the slave of Jehovah. It does not require further explanation or conditions. He makes himself available to Jehovah with humility and confidence, though he did not understand all the details.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 6<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit to Elizabeth must have been very emotional. When Elizabeth hears Mary&#8217;s voice and the baby jumps in her womb, it is clear that Jehovah was confirming in a very special way what was happening. It was a moment full of faith and joy.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 7<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elizabeth&#8217;s words show a lot of affection and a lot of spirituality. She does not express envy or comparison; she recognizes Mary&#8217;s privilege and sincerely rejoices in her. That kind of reaction honors Jehovah and strengthens unity.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 8<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mary&#8217;s answer is also precious, for immediately she directs the praise to Jehovah. It does not concentrate attention on itself, but on everything that God is doing. That way of reacting shows a very focused heart.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 9<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then Joseph appears, and the situation changes in tone. Humanly, it was logical that she felt bewildered. But Jehovah doesn&#8217;t leave him alone with his conclusions. He sends him an angel in a dream to clarify what happened and calm his heart.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comment 10<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joseph proves to be a just and obedient man. When he gets the explanation, he doesn&#8217;t resist or get caught up in his doubts. He acts and marries Maria.
