With the theme: Jehovah is the only one who can always help us.
Information:
When we go through trouble, we can only trust in our God, Jehovah, (Heb 13:5, 6: May his way of life be free from the love of money, and be content with the things that have. For he said, “I will never leave you and I will never forsake you.” So we can say full of confidence: O Jehovah is my helper. I’m not afraid. What can man do to me?)
Read Psalm 55:22: Throw thy burden upon Jehovah, and he shall sustain thee. He’ll never let the righteous fall. Then analyze with the present the following situations.
In each case, write a way of showing that we trust Jehovah and a way in which he helps us.
Situation 1: We lose our job or we find it hard to support our family
Commentary 1:
When you lose your job, the first thing that appears is anxiety: and now what?. To trust Jehovah is to do what it is up to – to seek employment, to adjust expenses, but without letting money send our lives. Hebrews 13 says that Jehovah does not forsake us. That promise calms you down and allows you to act with serenity, not panic, because you know you’re not alone.
Commentary 2:
A very practical way to scratch the burden is to talk to Jehovah in detail: what I owe, what worries me, what I don’t see out. That’s real confidence. And Psalm 55:22 says that he will hold you. Sometimes the solution doesn’t come up instantly, but Jehovah holds you on the inside: it takes away your drowning and gives you the strength to keep trying.
Commentary 3:
We show confidence when, even if there is a rush, we are still honest. We don’t look for weird shortcuts or things that compromise the conscience. That proves that we believe Jehovah is our assistant. And how does he help? It gives you inner peace, because you know you’re doing the right thing. That peace, when there is economic pressure, is enormous support.
Commentary 4:
To trust in Jehovah is also not to isolate himself. Sometimes by shame one is enclose, but Jehovah can help you through the congregation. Ask for advice, to accept encouragement, or even practical help if necessary, is not weakness: it is to recognize that Jehovah takes care of the flock. Many times that help comes just when you need it most.
Commentary 5:
13:6 For he says that there will be no problems, but we will not live dominated by fear: Jehovah is my helper.” Trust in saying, Jehovah, I will put this in your hands, and today I will do my part. And he helps you by giving you mental clarity and strength to maintain spiritual balance.
Situation 2: Authorities put restrictions on our work
Commentary 1:
When there are restrictions, it’s easy to feel intimidated. But Hebrews 13:6 reminds us: What can man do to me? To trust in Jehovah is not to paralyze us out of fear and continue to worship him with prudence. How does Jehovah help? It gives you courage and emotional stability, and reminds you that no opposition can slow down its purpose.
Commentary 2:
One way to show confidence is to maintain unity and follow the direction that is given. Instead of reacting each on his own, we trust in Jehovah acting in order. And that brings help: Jehovah blesses the unity. Psalm 55:22 says that he will not allow the righteous to fall; and to fall would also be to divide us or discourage us.
Commentary 3:
To trust Jehovah in these situations is to adapt without losing zeal: perhaps more informal, more revisiting, letters or discreet preaching. It’s not slowing down, it’s being wise. How does Jehovah help? He holds you to move on, and often opens doors that we didn’t expect. The play goes on, even if the shape changes.
Commentary 4:
When the mood presses, it is vital to continue feeding us spiritually. We trust when we don’t let go of meetings or spiritual routine. Jehovah helps us by giving us peace and inner security, for true security does not depend on circumstances, but on knowing that he is with you and does not forsaken you, as Hebrews 13:5 says.
Commentary 5:
And trusting is also not to respond with rage or pride. It’s to maintain respect, calm and good testimony. That shows that Jehovah guides us. How does Jehovah help? He holds you so as not to react badly, not to say things that you later regret, and to keep a good conscience under pressure.
Situation 3: We have serious health problems
Commentary 1:
When a serious illness arrives, one feels vulnerable and afraid. To trust Jehovah is to do what we can in the medical, but not to carry alone with anguish. Psalm 55:22 saith thy burden scratch upon Jehovah. That’s done with sincere prayer. How does Jehovah help? It gives you strength to hold on to day.
Commentary 2:
Sometimes health limits you and makes you feel useless. To trust Jehovah is to remember that your value does not depend on what you can do now. Hebrews 13:5 ensure that Jehovah hath not forsaken us. How does it help us? Give us peace and using the congregation to support us with encouragement, company and affection when we are weak.
Commentary 3:
We show confidence when we make decisions with a clean conscience and seek mature advice. It’s not improvising at critical moments. Jehovah help giving you serenity and trust: Hebrews 13:6 says that we can be filled with trust. That inner calm is a huge help when the body is going through so much.
Commentary 4:
In the disease, there are days when you can’t handle everything, and you blame yourself. To trust is to be reasonable and maintain an adapted spiritual routine: even if it is small, a prayer, a text or listening to a meeting. Jehovah helps by holding you so that the righteous may not come down. Even with little, he keeps you firm.
Commentary 5:
To trust too is to tell Jehovah what you feel without filters: I am afraid. You don’t have to be stone. Jehovah helps as a Father: it gives you peace that does not depend on diagnosis, sustains you mentally and allows you to continue to have hope. That help is something no one else can give you that way.
Situation 4: We suffer a tragedy (natural disaster or death of a loved one)
Commentary 1:
In tragedy, the pain is so great that it is not fixed with phrases. Therefore Psalm 55:22 is so beautiful: Thy burden is thrown upon Jehovah. Trust is to cry, pray and tell Jehovah exactly how you feel. How does he help? Holding on when you have no strength, calm to keep moving forward.
Commentary 2:
Hebrews 13:5 says, I will never forsake thee. In a loss, sometimes the worst is emptiness and loneliness. Trusting is grabbing that promise even if you don’t understand why. Jehovah helps giving you real companionship: by his spirit, through the Bible, and for the affection of the brothers. It doesn’t take away your pain, but it holds you.
Commentary 3:
After a tragedy, fear of the future is triggered: How am I going to live now? Hebrews 13:6 answer, O Jehovah is my helper. I won’t be afraid. To trust is to repeat that truth and not let fear rule you. Jehovah helps give you courage to resolve the immediate step by step, without collapsing.
Commentary 4:
To trust in Jehovah is also not to isolate himself. Suffering pushes to lock itself up, but Jehovah usually holds us through the congregation. To accept a visit, a call or a hug is to allow Jehovah to hold you. Psalm 55:22 Prone that he does not let the righteous fall, and often does it through others.Comment 5:
And trust is to live one day at a time. In tragedies, thinking too far ahead cruns. But if you do the basics today, a sentence, a text, a meeting, you’re already throwing the burden. Jehovah helps by holding you in the small, giving you the right strength for today… and tomorrow, the strength for tomorrow.
