Be Better Teachers April 13–19, 2026

Seamos Mejores Maestros del 13 al 19 de abril

1) START CONVERSATIONS

Duration: 4 minutes
Setting: House-to-house ministry
Objective: Offer a Bible study
Lesson: Make it clear that what you teach comes from the Bible

Demonstration

Elena (Publisher): Good morning. We are making very brief visits to share a Bible thought that is helping many people in such difficult times. I will hardly take any of your time.

Marta (Person): All right, go ahead.

Elena (Publisher): Thank you. Today many people try to find answers in many places: on the internet, in other people’s opinions, or in whatever each person feels. But an important question is: Where can we find truly reliable guidance for life?

Marta (Person): Yes… that is not easy. Nowadays everyone has an opinion about everything.

Elena (Publisher): Exactly, and that is why I really like to base myself not on personal ideas, but on what the Bible itself says. Please notice this text. At 2 Timothy 3:16 it says: “All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching.”
I like this verse because it makes clear that the Bible is not only an ancient book, but something useful, practical, capable of teaching us.

Marta (Person): Yes, but many times the problem is understanding it.

Elena (Publisher): And you are absolutely right. A great many people feel exactly the same way. In fact, some tell me, “I would like to read the Bible, but I don’t know where to start,” or “I read it, but I don’t understand it very well.” Has that ever happened to you?

Marta (Person): Yes, to be honest. I have tried to read some parts, but then I don’t know how to connect one thing with another.

Elena (Publisher): That is very common. And that is precisely why we offer a very simple Bible study. The beautiful thing is that it does not consist of teaching the person human opinions or strange doctrines, but of seeing directly what the Bible teaches, step by step, with clear questions and answers based on Bible texts.

Marta (Person): And what would that study be like?

Elena (Publisher): It is quite practical. It covers topics that truly interest people. For example: why there is so much suffering, whether God cares about us, what hope there is for the future, how to have a happier family, or how to find inner peace. And in each topic, Bible texts are used so that the person will not say, “Someone told me that,” but rather, “I saw that myself in the Bible.”

Marta (Person): Well, that does sound clearer.

Elena (Publisher): Yes, that is the idea. That faith should have a solid foundation. Look, Jesus said something very important at John 17:3: “This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.”
Notice that Jesus linked everlasting life with knowing God. So understanding the Bible is not just a curiosity; it can change a person’s life.

Marta (Person): Yes, but I don’t even know if I would have time for something like that.

Elena (Publisher): And I understand that too. Today we are all in a hurry. But that is exactly why the study adapts to the person. It can be done calmly, at your pace, free of charge, and with no obligation. You could even see just a first lesson or a small sample and then decide whether you are interested in continuing.

Marta (Person): So I would not have to commit myself from the beginning?

Elena (Publisher): No, not at all. The idea is not to pressure, but to help. Sometimes just one Bible conversation already encourages a person a lot. And if later you see that it benefits you, you can continue. If not, nothing happens.

Marta (Person): That sounds more reasonable to me.

Elena (Publisher): I’m glad. Because honestly, when a person discovers for themselves what the Bible teaches, their faith changes. It is no longer based on what others say, but on the very Word of God.

Marta (Person): Yes, that does interest me more.

Elena (Publisher): If you like, there is no need to decide anything today. I can come back another day and show you in a few minutes what a Bible lesson would be like. That way you can see for yourself whether it is useful to you.

Marta (Person): Yes, that would be better.

Elena (Publisher): Perfect. Then that is what I’ll do. And when I come back, instead of me doing most of the talking, we can open the Bible and look together at the answer to a specific current question. That way you can verify for yourself that what we teach comes from the Bible.

Marta (Person): Very well, agreed.

Elena (Publisher): Thank you very much for your time.

2) START CONVERSATIONS

Duration: 3 minutes
Setting: House-to-house ministry
Objective: Use one of the truths from Appendix A of the brochure A Work of Love
Lesson: Show empathy
Text: Isaiah 41:10

Demonstration

Elena (Publisher): Good morning. We are sharing a very brief Bible thought intended especially for people who are going through difficult times. If this is not a good time, I truly won’t keep you.

Marta (Person): Well… you can tell me.

Elena (Publisher): Thank you. Many times, when I speak with people, I notice that outwardly they try to keep going with everything, but inside they are carrying a heavy load. Health problems, family worries, anxiety, loneliness… and it is not always easy to talk about those things.

Marta (Person): Yes, the truth is that nowadays almost everyone is carrying something. I am too, of course.

Elena (Publisher): Exactly. And the sad thing is that sometimes the person feels that nobody really understands what they are going through. That is why I really like a very simple Bible truth: God sees your suffering and wants to help you.

Marta (Person): It sounds nice… although sometimes, when a person is going through a hard time, they do not feel that God is near.

Elena (Publisher): I understand. When a person is distressed, tired, or discouraged, they do not always feel comfort right away. But notice what God says at Isaiah 41:10: “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you. I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness.”

Marta (Person): That is a very beautiful text.

Elena (Publisher): Yes, because it does not sound cold or distant. It does not simply say, “Endure,” or “It will pass.” It says something much closer: “I will fortify you,” “I will help you,” “I will hold on to you.” It is as if God were telling the person: “I know you are suffering, I see it, and I am not going to leave you alone.”

Marta (Person): Honestly, that is very comforting.

Elena (Publisher): I’m glad. And let me tell you something sincerely: I do not know exactly what you may be going through, but I do know that God understands it better than anyone. The Bible shows that he is not indifferent to human pain.

Marta (Person): That gives a person something to think about.

Elena (Publisher): Yes. And besides promising help to endure, he also explains why we suffer and what he will soon do to bring that suffering to an end. That message has given a lot of peace to many people.

Marta (Person): Well, I would like to know more about that.

Elena (Publisher): I would be very happy to. If you like, I could come back another day and show you another brief text that explains why we can be sure that God really wants to help people.

Marta (Person): Yes, you can come back another day and we can look at it.

Elena (Publisher): Perfect. Then thank you very much for listening to me. And I truly hope that text gives you today some of the strength you need.

3) MAKE RETURN VISITS

Duration: 5 minutes
Setting: House-to-house ministry
Objective: Offer a Bible study to someone who attended the Memorial
Lesson: Try something different

Demonstration

Elena (Publisher): Hello, Marta. It is so nice to see you again. I just wanted to greet you and thank you for attending the Memorial. I was very happy when I saw you there. What did you think of it?

Marta (Person): Honestly, I liked it quite a lot. It was a very respectful meeting and simpler than I had imagined. I came away with a good impression.

Elena (Publisher): I’m very glad. Was there anything that especially caught your attention?

Marta (Person): Yes. I liked that everything was explained from the Bible and that there was so much said about Jesus’ sacrifice. But I’ll be honest too: I left with several questions and with the feeling that I am still missing many pieces to understand it all well.

Elena (Publisher): And that is completely normal. Many people feel exactly that way after attending for the first time. They like what they hear, but they realize they would like to understand the Bible better.

Marta (Person): Yes, exactly. Although I also have to say that I don’t know if I’m ready right now to start a Bible study. It sounds like something serious, long… I don’t know.

Elena (Publisher): I really appreciate your telling me that so clearly. And I’m not going to pressure you. In fact, maybe the best thing is not to talk about “starting a study” all at once like that. Sometimes when people hear that expression, they imagine long classes, commitments, or something very formal.

Marta (Person): Yes, that is exactly what I thought.

Elena (Publisher): Exactly, and that is why I wanted to explain it another way. Rather than thinking about “a study” in general, think of something much simpler: sitting down for a little while to analyze one specific Bible question. For example: Why did Jesus die? How does his sacrifice benefit me? Why does God allow suffering? What real hope does the Bible offer for the future?

Marta (Person): Honestly, that sounds much more practical.

Elena (Publisher): Yes, because that is the idea. Not to overload the person with information, but to help them find clear answers in the Bible. Look, Jesus said at John 17:3: “This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” So coming to know Jehovah and Jesus better is not something secondary. It is essential.

Marta (Person): Yes, that is a very beautiful text.

Elena (Publisher): In addition, the Bible study is designed especially for people who are starting from zero or who want to understand better what they have heard. There is no need to know much about the Bible or to have experience. It goes step by step, with simple questions, clear texts, and in a very visual way.

Marta (Person): And how much time would that take?

Elena (Publisher): It adapts to the person. It can last about an hour, or less if necessary. It can be done calmly, free of charge, and with no obligation. You can even try a first lesson and then freely decide whether you want to continue. It is like having a conversation as we are doing now, but in a more relaxed setting.

Marta (Person): That reassures me more, because right now I do not want to get involved in something that I later can’t keep up with.

Elena (Publisher): And you are right to think it through. That is precisely why I wanted to try something different with you. Instead of asking you to accept a complete Bible study right now, what if next time we look at just one first question? Something brief. That way you can see what it is really like, without pressure.

Marta (Person): That I could do.

Elena (Publisher): Very good. And I also think it would help you a lot, because you already took a very beautiful step by attending the Memorial. Now perhaps the next natural step is to understand even better why that sacrifice is so valuable for you personally.

Marta (Person): Yes, because that was exactly one of the things that made me think the most. I understand that it was important, but I would like to understand better what that changes for me.

Elena (Publisher): And that is an excellent question. In fact, that could be precisely the first one we look at together. Not something theoretical, but something very personal: How does Jesus’ sacrifice benefit me?

Marta (Person): Yes, that would be a good way to start.

Elena (Publisher): I’m glad. And let me tell you something: many people who hesitated at first, when they see a first lesson, realize that it is not a heavy class, but a calm Bible-based conversation in which God’s hand can truly be seen.

Marta (Person): Yes, I think that sometimes the word “study” sounds more intimidating than anything else.

Elena (Publisher): Exactly. That is why I think the best thing is for you to see it for yourself. Because in the end, the important thing is that it will help you draw closer to God and understand his Word better.

Marta (Person): Yes, seen that way, it sounds good to me.

Elena (Publisher): Perfect. Then that is what we will do. Next time I stop by your house, I will bring a brochure with me to look at the first lesson, we will go over one brief part, and afterward you can tell me with complete confidence whether you would like to continue or not.

Marta (Person): Yes, that is how I prefer it.

Elena (Publisher): That sounds very good to me. And I’m really glad, because I sincerely think you are going to like it. Especially because it is already clear that you value spiritual things and that you do not want to stay with only a superficial impression, but to truly understand what the Bible teaches.

Marta (Person): Yes, that’s true. When something matters to me, I like to understand it well.

Elena (Publisher): And that is very good. So that’s our agreement. Next time we won’t speak in general terms, but we will look at one specific Bible question, and then you decide afterward.

Marta (Person): Perfect. That sounds good to me.

Elena (Publisher): Excellent. Thank you very much, Marta. I’m very glad to see you so receptive.
