Congregation Bible Study — Week of June 15-21, 2026

Commentary 1:
This introduction reminds us that Jesus continued to lead his disciples after returning to heaven. They did not bring the good news on their own, but with the guidance of Christ and with the help of Jehovah. That teaches us that preaching has always had divine direction.

Commentary 2:
It strikes me that Jehovah enabled the early Christians to teach in different languages. That shows that he wanted people from many nations to understand the truth. Jehovah does not limit his message to a few, but desires it to reach all kinds of people.

Commentary 3:
We also learn that the early Christians did not have an easy life. They suffered cruel persecution, but Jehovah gave them courage and strength to endure. This encourages us because, although today we too can face opposition, Jehovah can give us the courage to remain faithful.

Commentary 4:
The vision John received helps us to look beyond the current problems. He saw Jesus as King, the 144,000 ruling with him and the Earth turned into Paradise. That strengthens our hope and reminds us that the Kingdom will destroy Satan’s dominion.

Commentary 5:
An important lesson is that Jehovah must be our best friend. If we dedicate ourselves to him in prayer and let his Kingdom rule our life, we give him glory. To serve Jehovah is not only to fulfill one task, but to live every day as his friends.

What happened at the Pentecost Feast of year 33?

Commentary 1:
At the Feast of Pentecost in 33, about 120 disciples were gathered in a room when they received holy spirit. A noise was heard of a loud wind, they appeared as flames of fire on them and began talking in different languages.

Commentary 2:
What happened was a miracle thing. People from many places had gone to Jerusalem for the feast and heard the disciples speak in their own languages. That surprised them very much, because they knew that many of these disciples were from Galilee.

Commentary 3:
At Pentecost, Jehovah fulfilled the promise to give the disciples a holy spirit. Thanks to that, they were able to speak courageously and teach people from different nations. It was clear proof that Jesus was alive and continued to direct the work from heaven.

Commentary 4:
Peter stood up with the other apostles and explained what was going on. He told the people that Jesus had been raised by Jehovah and that he was now at the right hand of God. Those miracles showed that Jesus had received and shed the holy spirit.

Commentary 5:
That day marked a very important start for Christians. The disciples were given power to preach, many people listened to the message in their own language and the congregation began to grow. Jehovah was showing that he clearly supported the followers of Jesus.

Why were so many people baptized?

Commentary 1:
So many people were baptized because Peter’s words reached their hearts. They understood that Jesus was the Christ, that Jehovah had raised him and that they needed to repent. They were not alone excited; they acted and demonstrated faith through baptism.

Commentary 2:
Many people were baptized because they recognized that they had been wrong about Jesus. Peter told them clearly that Jehovah had lifted him up from the dead. In understanding that truth, they wanted to change, repent and set on the side of Christ.

Commentary 3:
Peter’s message was direct, but he also gave them hope. He told them that they could repent, be baptized and receive the gift of the holy spirit. That shows that Jehovah was willing to forgive those who accepted Jesus with sincere faith.

Commentary 4:
Some 3,000 people were baptized because they saw clear evidence of Jehovah’s support. They heard the disciples speak in their languages, heard Peter’s explanation and understood that Jesus was Jehovah. Their faith prompted them to make an immediate decision.

Those people didn’t miss the opportunity. When they understood what Jehovah was waiting for them, they asked, “What should we do?” That humble attitude led them to baptism. This teaches us that when the truth touches the heart, we must respond with actions.

We learn the importance of being guided by the holy spirit. The disciples trusted not in their own strength, but in the help which Jehovah gave them. Today we also need to ask for a holy spirit to preach, make good decisions and stay faithful.

Commentary 2:
This lesson encourages us to speak of the truth with courage. Peter stood up and clearly explained who Jesus was. We too can bear witness with respect and trust, knowing that Jehovah can help us to say what is necessary at every moment.

Commentary 3:
We learn that the truth must touch the heart and lead us to act. People asked, “What should we do?” and then they were baptized. We too want to respond to what we learn by making changes and obeying Jehovah.

Commentary 4:
The story teaches us to value baptism. It is not a mere ceremony, but a serious decision that shows repentance, faith in Jesus and desire to serve Jehovah. That is why those who have not yet been baptized can see it as a very valuable goal.

We also learn that Jehovah can grow his people. In a single day about 3,000 people were baptized. This encourages us not to underestimate preaching. Though few hear it seems, Jehovah can attract many sincere people.

Why didn’t the disciples stop preaching?

Commentary 1:
The disciples did not fail to preach because they knew that obeying Jehovah was more important than to obey men. The religious leaders ordered them to be silent, but they were clear that Jesus had commanded them to talk about him and the good news.

Commentary 2:
They did not fail to preach because they were convinced that Jesus was the means that Jehovah was using. Peter told the leaders that the power came from Jesus Christ, the same one they had killed. That conviction gave them courage to keep talking.

Commentary 3:
The disciples had seen the help of Jehovah very clearly. The man who could not walk was healed in the name of Jesus, and many people became believers. That strengthened their faith and confirmed to them that they should continue to preach.

Commentary 4:
Although they were threatened, imprisoned and beaten, the disciples did not stop. For them, preaching was not an optional activity, but a responsibility given by God. Therefore they said firmly: We have to obey God as a ruler rather than men.

Commentary 5:
They did not fail to preach because they loved Jehovah, Jesus, and the people. They knew the message could save lives. The opposition of religious leaders did not make them lose sight of the most important thing: to help others know the truth.

How did Jehovah help them?

Commentary 1:
Jehovah helped them by giving them a holy spirit. After Peter and John were delivered, the disciples prayed to ask courage, and Jehovah answered. Thanks to that help, they were able to continue to preaching strongly even though religious leaders wanted to stop them.

Commentary 2:
And Jehovah helped them through miracles. Through Peter, he healed the man who could not walk. That miracle caught the attention of many people and opened the opportunity to testify about Jesus. Jehovah turned that situation into an occasion to preach.

Commentary 3:
When the apostles were incarcerated, Jehovah sent an angel to open the doors of the prison. But he did not release them only to escape, but to return to the temple and continue to preaching. That shows that Jehovah clearly supported his work.

Commentary 4:
Jehovah helped them by giving them courage to speak before the Sanhedrin. Those leaders had power and were furious, but the apostles did not intimidate each other. With the help of Jehovah, they responded with respect, firmness and impressive faith.

Commentary 5:
Jehovah even used Gamaliel’s intervention to stop the apostles from killing them. Although they beat them, they went free and kept preaching. This reminds us that Jehovah can protect his servants and open his ways when it seems that everything is against.

We learn that Jehovah gives courage to his servants when they need him. The disciples were not invincible for themselves, but they prayed and received holy spirit. Jehovah can help us also when we feel fear or when we face pressure for our faith.

We learn that we must obey Jehovah above any human pressure. If anyone tries to prevent us from doing what God commands, we remember the words of Acts 5:29. Our principal loyalty must always be to Jehovah.

Commentary 2:
This lesson teaches us to ask for courage in prayer. The disciples did not ask for an easier life, but forces to keep talking. We too can ask Jehovah for courage to preach, defend our faith, and stand firm.

Commentary 3:
We learn not to discourage ourselves when there is opposition. The apostles were threatened, imprisoned and beaten, but they continued to preach. If anyone mocks or rejects us today, we can remember that Jehovah sees our fidelity and helps us to endure.

Commentary 4:
The example of Peter and John encourages us to take advantage of opportunities to give witness. The man’s healing opened the door to speak of Jesus. We too can use everyday situations to explain our hope with naturalness and respect.

We also learn to continue preaching with joy. Although the apostles suffered, they did not stop talking about Jesus in the temple and from house to house. His example encourages us to be constant, courageous and positive in the work that Jehovah has entrusted to us.
