Theme: “How can we show that we respect the Kingdom Hall?”
Video: “Become Jehovah’s Friend: Love Jehovah’s House”
Question: What should we do to take care of the Kingdom Hall, and why?
Comment 1:
We should clean the Kingdom Hall. The video reminds us that Samuel served at the tabernacle, and that this place was like his home, but it was also Jehovah’s house. That teaches us that the place where we worship Jehovah should be treated with great respect.
Comment 2:
The video shows that Samuel treated Jehovah’s house well by cleaning it. In the same way, we can take care of the Kingdom Hall by keeping it clean. In this way we show that we understand it is not just any place, but a place dedicated to Jehovah.
Comment 3:
We should view the Kingdom Hall as Jehovah’s house. In the video that comparison is made with the tabernacle. If Samuel took care of the tabernacle because it was Jehovah’s house, we too want to take care of the Kingdom Hall with that same attitude.
Comment 4:
The video teaches that even children can help take care of the hall. Caleb understands that he can help by cleaning. That reminds us that all of us, whether young or old, can do something to keep the hall clean and well cared for.
Comment 5:
The main reason to take care of the Kingdom Hall is that in this way we show Jehovah that we love him. The video says it clearly: when we clean the Kingdom Hall, we show Jehovah our love. It is not just cleaning; it is a form of worship and respect.
Read 1 Timothy 2:9, 10
Likewise, the women should adorn themselves in appropriate dress, with modesty and soundness of mind, not with styles of hair braiding and gold or pearls or very expensive clothing, but in the manner befitting women who profess devotion to God, namely, through good works.
Question: In what other way can we all show respect for Jehovah when we attend our meetings?
Comment 1:
We can show respect for Jehovah by the way we dress and groom ourselves. 1 Timothy 2:9 speaks of wearing appropriate dress, with modesty and soundness of mind. That teaches us that, when we go to the meetings, our appearance should be dignified and reflect respect for the worship of Jehovah.
Comment 2:
The text also helps us avoid drawing too much attention. It mentions that what is important is not the adornments, expensive clothing, or an appearance meant to impress. When we attend the meetings, we want the attention to be on Jehovah and on what we learn, not on ourselves.
Comment 3:
Although Paul mentions women, the principle applies to everyone. We can all ask ourselves whether our clothing and grooming reflect modesty and soundness of mind. In this way we show that we value the privilege of meeting together to worship Jehovah and that we want to present ourselves in a respectful manner.
Comment 4:
1 Timothy 2:10 says that the most important thing is good works, as is fitting for those who have devotion to God. So we also show respect for Jehovah by our conduct at the meetings: by listening, participating, being kind, and behaving in a way that honors Jehovah.
Comment 5:
This text reminds us that our appearance should be accompanied by a spiritual attitude. It is not just about dressing well, but about showing modesty, soundness of mind, and devotion to God. When we take care of our clothing, our grooming, and our conduct, we show respect for Jehovah and for his house.
